  1. It’s made all the more stupid that the team’s named after a freaking body of water and could just have easily been the Tampa Rays if not to appease Little Brother Across the Bridge.
  2. I guess it’s better than the other half dozen where you’re in if you cut a big enough check.
  3. Oh come now, don’t let that pesky mod title stop you.
  4. Hmmm... Wavy white wordmark on blue background with a hand-drawn basketball-like shape?
  5. Yep, that's @Still MIGHTY in his professional sportswriting glory.
  6. From years of watching the Dodgers lay eggs, I think for the most part playoff baseball requires an ability to harness and channel emotion. The Dodgers, for example, are a team full of talent but at the same time is a team too stoic and professional. You need more Schwarbers and Harpers out there throwing their bats 30 feet as opposed to the Dodgers only bringing themselves to do the Freddie flailing arm dance.
  7. Fitting that the team named after an actual law enforcement agency is this year's Team Justice™.
  8. Come now. This is the AFL 3.0 we're talking about. Just shove a field in the abandoned outlet center and call it a day.
  9. Seeing where this league is going, I'd say that Bakersfield is probably the most appropriate venue for the California team.
  10. We knew the Dodgers starting rotation was held together with tape but holy f***.
  11. That's one loud, obnoxious banner. Fitting for the organization.

  13. Kings finally on the ad train. Mercury Insurance it is.
  14. "Heat Culture" has officially become the new "Cardinal Way" in its lack of self awareness.
  15. Third time's a charm can apply to a lot of things, but drafting a third quarterback with a first round pick in seven years is a complete institutional failure.
  16. I have a theory as a Rams fan. Sean McVay just sucks at putting together a run game. He was shielded when the last few millimeters of cartilage were still in Todd Gurley's knee but he has been repeatedly exposed since, only to be briefly covered up by whatever random veteran they'd bring in at the last minute (CJ Anderson, Sony Michel, etc.) This is made all the more confounding by McVay's love of play action which is a cakewalk to defend when you assume it's a pass every time. Taking a look at the Cam Akers situation, after attempting to decipher McVay-speak, I'm willing to bet that Akers was the one running back to actually call McVay out on now knowing what he was doing and McVay's ego couldn't handle it. McVay frequently coded the situation as a "misunderstanding on usage" which really seems to be code for "I don't know what I'm doing but Akers dared to question how I was throwing him into the line for two yards a carry." With the announcers tonight frequently saying how little McVay trusted the run and how the offense was one-dimensional I just laughed to myself because it's obvious that McVay doesn't trust the run because he's clueless with it. It's also hilarious that he didn't trust the run after he traded Akers and threw all his eggs into the "Kyren Williams is our savior" basket - so much for that ego restoration there, Sean.
  17. Choosing a team in a top-level league over a minor league team doesn't seem like a very hard decision. You can't use that as an apples-to-apples comparison for MLB expansion interest, especially with a city such as Portland where the only stadium options were converting the ballpark in the city or playing way out at a rec league field in the suburbs.
  18. Hell, simulcast one with the Mannings and the other with the Nick slime cannons.
  19. The problem that has to be solved with natural grass in domes is how it'll be stored/maintained when non-football events are taking place. It's great in theory to have natural grass at SoFi but what do you do when the building is taken over by Swifties and the Bey Hive for weeks on end?
  20. If GCU or Denver get targeted for anything it’d be the WCC’s BYU replacement. Or hell, just drag them in with Seattle to get to 12 as potential Gonzaga insurance.
  21. The reports of Matthew Stafford's demise have apparently been greatly exaggerated.
  22. The Angels have become the Onion.
