White numbers on black is far more contrast (in fact, the most contrast) than black numbers on blue. The numbers on the black jersey probably aren't blue for a reason.

Giants and Rams weren't "forced" into anything. They could have gone with non-metallic royal blue helmets in the early 90s like Duke and Kansas did. (Blue Devils had royal blue shells in the late 70s according to Helmet Project). They chose not to. Kansas State had a custom light gray color in the 80s, so custom colors were available...

Pretty sure that would create huge contrast issues.

Other inputs, such as quality and price point of jerseys in 2004, were quite beneficial for the consumer in the early 2000s. CCM was selling decent replica jerseys (yes, embroirdered crests that were heat-pressed) for what, $60-80 in 2004?

The Rockwell font (or modified Rockwell) - which is a free font on MS Word - just isn't doing anything for me. Really looks generic.

These are pretty terrible. With two VT logos on the shorts, it didn't need to be on the jersey...that's what wordmarks are for.

It's a new Riddell helmet that's been in the college ranks for one or two years. Quite a few others have the same model, notably Ezekiel Elliott. It's almost just a modernization of those thick facemasks from the 90s (also seen on old mini helmets)

The end zone stays the same throughout the NFL season. Patriots have had the same white-letter end zone for years.

It looks like Arizona has ditched the navy facemasks this year (which is a downgrade in my opinion); all four games so far have white helmet/white mask:

They'll have the retro Super Bowl 21 end zones when they wear the blue throwbacks, not the color rush whites.

IIRC they had both endzones for Giants/Jets preseason games a few times in the 2000s. The Patriots could really do so much more with the endzone mark; fill it in with blue or red, outlined in white...or vice-versa. The plain white letters are just so bland. For me, the cursive script was a far better fit for the brand.

Maryland should definitely go back to "Terps" or "M/M-flag" helmet decals. Something about the school has to be a better brand than the state flag. Wish Kansas went with a blue helmet with a red facemask (sort of like the 90s).
