  1. The Dodgers’ new cap is just their everyday cap with a black bill. Pretty boring.
  2. Four teams in a row with black pants, including two back-to-back in monochrome. I thought Nike were supposed to be marketing geniuses? At least the sleeve design provides a desperately needed pop of color.
  3. God, I hope the real thing is more interesting than this. I know it's a cliched thing to say, but this genuinely does look like something someone could have come up with in five minutes.
  4. I'd swap the home and road alts. The orange gradient would look pretty bad with gray pants in real life, and dark colored alternates tend to be worn on the road, anyway.
  5. If the Dodgers would just promote their Spring Training jersey to regular season alternate, it would immediately become one of my favorite looks in MLB:
  6. Thanks so much! Up today are the Milwaukee Bears: BEARS HOME: BEARS ROAD: BEARS HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - For the Bears, I rolled in several elements from the team's uniform history, including raglan style sleeves, colored belt loops and a diamond design on the cap, while substituting royal blue with the Brewers' current navy and gold color palette. - I couldn't decide whether to go with pinstripes or without, so I compromised and went with subtle pins, a la the new Twins' road set. C&C appreciated!
  7. I too prefer your original Rhode Island set (but the rope on the cap in the update is top notch). I’m not convinced the new logo reads as an “RI;” I see the “R” but not the ”I.”
  8. Thanks! Ok, here's what I'd do: Notes: - It should be pretty obvious by now that I'm a big fan of monochrome uniforms, so I wanted to maintain that look for Cincinnati. - It's not the most unique idea in the world, but my redesign adapts the Flag of Cincinnati into a uniform, similar to how the Cubs' Wrigleyville set uses a Chicago flag motif. The cap "C" with leaf crown comes from the flag, as do the three wavy stripes representing the Ohio River on the sleeves and pantlegs. - Inspired by the Reds' primary logo from 1890, I remade the "Cincy" wordmark in Old English lettering, with numbers to match. And here's a black version for comparison's sake: Again, not the most original idea ever, but I think this design would've probably been better received than the one we got. Let me know what you think!
  9. A while back, I was inspired to create a series of MLB x Negro League mashup designs. Unlike @Carolingian Steamroller's fantastic Negro League Teams in the Present Day project, which sought to imagine what NLB teams would like today had they been absorbed into MLB, this series seeks to combine Negro League identities with the aesthetics of the Major League teams with whom they shared (or would eventually share) a city. Without further ado, here are the Miami Giants: MIAMI GIANTS HOME: MIAMI GIANTS ROAD: MIAMI GIANTS HOME ALT: MIAMI GIANTS ROAD ALT: Notes: - My Giants design is heavily influenced by the 1996-99 Florida Marlins, with ocean blue replacing teal and pink/magenta replacing silver. - While the actual Miami Giants allegedly wore black, blue and red, I took a little artistic license and went with a more Miami Vice-centric color scheme. - The scripts come from the Miami Giants fauxback jersey offered by Ebbets Field Flannels. C&C appreciated as always! Another team will be up soon.
  10. Up next are the Reds: Notes: - I don't have too much to say about Cincinnati's new City Connect set, so I'll keep this brief. I think Nike missed the mark with this one, as it does little to nothing to "connect" to the city of Cincinnati nor to the Reds themselves, which is especially sad considering this team has the richest history in MLB. I like to think the mono-black look was subconsciously inspired by these all-navy throwbacks from 1911, but that's probably just wishful thinking. - The most common complaint about the Reds' set is the black wordmark on black jersey, a design choice that's almost always a bad idea. Therefore I've gone with a red wordmark and numbers, done up in the same wavelength line style as the cap logo. I also worked up a version with red pants: C&C appreciated! The (gulp) Orioles are due up next. Might have my work cut out for me with that one.
  11. This is a definite improvement but I think you could still take it a little further. Try working some green into the home, road and home alt. The solution to the home alt is easy--just make the numbers green with silver inserts, basically a reverse of the road alt.
  12. I feel like this scheme would work better for Miami. Hunter green and powder/sky blue is the way to go for the Rays.
  13. Really nice Rockies concept! Styling the numbers like the wordmarks is a great idea and I'm surprised I never thought of doing that myself! I like the addition of green to the team's colorway, but personally, I would drop black altogether. You're trying to balance three muted colors as well as use silver as an accent. Losing black would help simplify things for the better. Also, small nitpick: on the purple alt, the inserts on the wordmarks are silver, but on the numbers they're purple.
  14. Very nice! I'd love to see the Jays go in this direction for their City Connect set. I think monochrome blue is probably a given for them.
  15. Surprise! To keep a promise I made a while ago to @Discrim, I'm back today with the Expos and Olympic Stadium! EXPOS: Notes: - For the Expos, I went all-in on the aesthetics of the 1976 Summer Olympics played in Montreal, with a triple striped design modeled after the uniforms worn by Team Canada that year. I originally considered going just red and white but decided to add a touch of blue to keep the uniform from looking too much like the Blue Jays' Canada Day alts. - The Olympic logo with lowercase wordmark beneath it are, of course, inspired by those original Expos jerseys. - The sleeves bear the silhouette of the iconic Montreal Tower which overlooks Olympic Stadium. - Stencil style numbers are meant to evoke those worn by marathon runners. C&C appreciated!
  16. Nice work on both Cleveland teams! I really like the subtle silver trim on the Reds. For the Guardians, I might go with the block "C" on the navy jersey as opposed to the winged baseball logo. As much as I like the winged ball logo, it might be a little too busy-looking for the front of a jersey.
  17. The Rays as an organization do pretty much everything right, but matching powder blue jerseys with gray pants is not one of them.
  18. Thanks! As promised, up today is a full redesign of the Mariners based on the team's City Connect set: MARINERS HOME: MARINERS ROAD: MARINERS HOME ALT: MARINERS ROAD ALT: Notes: - The teal/Northwest green used here is a lot brighter than what the Mariners use in real life. I split the difference between Northwest green and the more seafoam-ish shade the team uses on their socials. - I really love how the T-bars looked on my City Connect tweak, so I kept them for my redesign. T-bars are awesome and at least one team in MLB should rock them in today's game, so why not Seattle? - As you can see, the road grays are back. Now that the M's have a blue and gold City Connect set, it's redundant to keep the Sunday home off-whites around, and they never should have dropped the grays to begin with. - I wasn't originally planning to go with beveled wordmarks and numbers but soon realized I needed them to make the silver scripts and numbers really pop against the two alts. - Huge thanks to @upperV03 for generously permitting me to use his wordmarks and S compass logo for my redesign! C&C appreciated!
  19. So far so good! It's interesting to see a traditional baseball script used for a Rockies concept. The alternate wordmark feels like a glimpse at how the Rockies might have looked as an expansion team in the '70s or '80s. I think the cap logo could use a little tweaking, as something seems off about the inner mountain running into the opening of the "C." Honestly, I don't think you even need that smaller mountain in the logo.
