  1. According to NBA 2K23 it looks like the Celtics have removed the white circle from center court for the first time in franchise history.
  2. I would imagine the Steelers would wear throwbacks but they haven't worn them in 2 seasons for some reason. I don't know if they were discontinued or not. EDIT: This is on the Gridiron Uniform Database. Not sure how true this is.
  3. Did the Lakers scrap the new Statement uniform that got leaked?
  4. I was just wondering the other day why the Broncos never wore all orange against the Raiders and now they will. It always seemed like something that would happen yet it never did. I'm expecting the Raiders to wear their throwback jersey against the Chiefs in Week 5 for MNF. They've only worn it once for a day game and that was in 2020 against the Chargers in a dome. I assume they only wear it at night because of legibility issues with the numbers.
  5. Supposedly the Cincinnati Bengals uniforms every year from 1996 to 1999. They couldn't keep the same look for more than a year. It seems like the team had no idea what they wanted to look like. It stopped in 2001 when Reebok took over the NFL uniform contract. People wonder why NFL has a 5 year rule and this is a good example of why. They force teams to set a design and stick to it. By the way, I think the Puma version sucks.
  6. NBA 2K23 introduced a new mode in it where you can go back in time and play out 80 years starting from either 1983, 1991 or 2002. It's crazy stuff, they got everything in there a logo/uniform die hard could want it seems. With those eras comes graphics packages and they did a great job with that one. The NBC and ESPN ones got me hyped. They don't have the licenses to the networks but they can use the general designs. The game isnt out yet but it all seems to be pretty good detail wise.
  7. I completely forgot about that one season where they downplayed the powder blue. That was terrible. It was like erectile dysfunction of a brand.
  8. The Cardinals helmet is surprisingly nice but pairing it with the standard alternate jersey is a bad idea. They just looked like the 2004 Falcons instead and I don't usually like to make comparisons like that but it was hard not to feel that way. The helmet is clearly designed for the Color Rush uniform and will look more appropriate.
  9. Looks like the Chargers have a new LA Bolt logo on their helmet bumper. It wasn't there last year.
  10. I don't like the Cowboys helmet for the same reason I don't like the Bears helmet in that they are one of the teams that should not have an alternate helmet unless it's for a throwback. Now they will just not look like the Cowboys and that's just about the dumbest thing you can do. The team hasn't had a white helmet since 1963 and now they will suddenly wear a new white helmet for a random game in Nashville. Not in a home game, not against a rival team, against the Tennesse Titans on a Thursday night. That's stupid. Helmet branding is important regardless of how good alternate helmets can be. Some teams seriously need to stay in their lane. I'm not saying I don't want alternate helmets, it's just that I want them to be for teams that don't have iconic helmets and more importantly I want the helmets to actually be creative and make sense. The Cardinals helmet shouldn't be messed with but they made it work by bringing something new to the table design wise, it wasn't just some cheap color swap and calling it a day. They actually modified the decal, added red flakes, that's actually interesting and makes it easier to stomach. All I ask is that teams try harder and stop being stupid.
  11. It looked terrible. There's just not enough yellow on the rest of the uniform to justify and make it a cohesive look. The only thing the Commanders should do is white pants or burgundy pants. The burgundy pants on the away jersey make it less awful, maybe throw on black socks for the contrast, but they're most likely going to just wear burgundy pants and socks.
  12. Unfortunately for us uniform nerds Madden 23 doesn't have the alternate helmets in the game at launch, so we won't be able to try mixing and matching right now. They'll probably be added in an update. I did however get to pair the Commanders black helmet with the road uniform and it's ATROCIOUS. The Commanders have yellow pants too but no yellow socks.
  13. Commanders helmet is very nice. That is all.
  14. The 49ers look so much better now. It's amazing what adding one extra stripe can do.
  15. Your assumption is correct. They were originally suppose to have a beveled W on the hats and it doesn't look very good in my opinion. The Curly W was the right move.
  16. Wow, the Warriors are stupid. They had a perfect alternate.
  17. The Pirates should just go back to the mix and match monochrome chaos of the 70's era. It makes more sense for it to happen now than it did in the 70's.
  18. I believe the nametag, stitching and bone uniform were all inspired by fashion trends. The ideas work (or don't work) for normal clothing but don't work for sports uniforms and they found out the hard way. In a couple years I expect the nametag and gradient to be gone and the bone uniform retired and replaced by something else.
  19. The 49ers uniforms from 96 to 98 were definitely based on the throwback look.
  20. I believe it does count. Panthers wore their blue jerseys twice in the 2018 preseason and then once in the regular season.
  21. So it seems like the Cowboys could possibly wear four different helmet designs this season. Don't forget the random 1976 throwback helmet they wore last year. Regular, all white, 60's throwback, 70's throwback.
  22. My bet is that they will finally wear Mercury Mets uniforms again.
  23. When the NFL first put the logo on the neck of the jerseys in 1991 the Bears had it below the collar and not at the neck because their jerseys had a round t-shirt collar. It was only like this for maybe a couple years.
  24. Pretty sure you're mostly right. A top down view of a piston with basketball lines. It's one of those "stare at it for awhile" logos.
