  1. Actually, it wasn't - it's placed on the civil flag (not the city flag, that's the blue one with the Cross of Andrew and the seal on it) but the logo is a "registered service mark" of the City of Charlotte. For quite a while they were extremely strict about not letting non-governmental entities use it, but they've loosened up the past few years when they realized what a good marketing tool it is. I wouldn't say if it's acceptable or not given the City may not know about it (or, they may not want to waste money on a suit). https://www.charlotteiscreative.com/the-queen-citys-crown-saga/ https://charlottenc.gov/Charlotte-Communications-and-Marketing/Pages/City Logo Guidelines.aspx
  2. Completely unrelated to the discussion (though I agree about the college 3-point line) but man that court is so good. Just the right amount of 90s cheese. Blows nearly everything the Hornets do nowadays out of the water. I'd want the honeycomb wood pattern and then it's perfect.
  3. San Francisco vs. Philadelphia Cincinnati vs. Kansas City
  4. Luv ya blue returning to Houston is a good thing no matter how you slice it. There's nothing more Houston football than the Oilers and the Texans should've been able to claim that from day one. Besides, if the Titans aren't gonna use it properly, the Texans might as well.
  5. I think the red helmet with the white jersey looks great. I'd like to see more teams experiment with this, equipment like helmets or even pants specifically for the road. Columbus does it and I think Colorado could use it as well. I'm all for more color in hockey.
  6. That's disappointing. The purple and orange was something unique and while I know nothing says Pittsburgh like black and gold, I'll miss what they had. Hopefully the uniforms stay at least somewhat close to what they had. Those were excellent.
  7. I disagree solely on the grounds that it would make Scorigami much less fun.
  8. I was always curious to see if the NHL would at least pretend to have good values by properly defending their "Hockey is for Everyone" campaign. Even if it is performative, I still appreciate being told that I belong. They can't even keep that up. Disappointing but not surprising.
  9. Jacksonville vs. Kansas City New York vs. Philadelphia Cincinnati vs. Buffalo Dallas vs. San Francisco
  10. I'd much rather the Ravens keep purple/black/gold than drop the gold and add red. I think those TCU unis are terrible and I think what Baltimore has now is a unique and recognizable color scheme. My preference would be to drop red full-time (including the awful flag logos) but if they were to add red, I'd want purple/gold/red. No team needs four colors.
  11. So glad to see you back with some new concepts! I always love to see your work. BOS: Stellar work here! That logo is beautiful and the hidden B in the sails is such a nice touch. The uniforms are also gorgeous, that light shade of blue works wonders here. The yoke is a modern touch that still feels very classy. The throwback is still probably my favorite but it's all great. Also, is that the old lighthouse shield logo on their pants? JAX: I like the name change from Cyclones, this is a more unique concept that still feels right. The curved "Jacksonville" script is sooooo good and I love how it looks on the jerseys. The one thing I'm not feeling as much is how much the logo in blends in on the helmet. I'm not really sure how to fix it, but maybe swapping the light purple and white would work? NO: New Orleans remains one of my favorite sets you've made and this new brassy shade of gold is wonderful. It feels so rich and lively, as does the rest of the set. The bead necklace collar is such a nice detail that adds so much without being overwhelming. For what it's worth, I didn't notice until it was pointed out. There certainly aren't any mountains that close to CMS, haha.
  12. The block C we can see here is not subject to copyright, as it doesn't meet the "threshold of originality". It is, however, trademarked, so yes, Cleveland has a case here. In the article it states that they only reached out after Charged Up filed to trademark their logo, which features the old Cleveland block C. You can't use another trademarked logo without a license, even with the slight modifications they made.
  13. I actually really like that shade of purple, it reminds me of the Hornets' Dark Purple. I wish I could say that it means we're not getting an Ally-themed kit but I can't because Ally uses every shade of purple in their brand. Stupid that we have to worry about that but whatever. I can at least hope that it looks good.
  14. St. Louis CITY Soccer Capital has too much pink going on, there needs to be more navy. The yellow trim isn't great either. I really don't like the colored trim that's going to be on every jersey. Completely unnecessary "addition" that just clutters up every design.
  15. Seattle vs. San Francisco Los Angeles vs. Jacksonville Miami vs. Buffalo New York vs. Minnesota Baltimore vs. Cincinnati Dallas vs. Tampa Bay
  16. Charlotte FC teases what I assume to be their clash kit, to be revealed tomorrow. Obviously the text is pink (like the colors leak) and it seems to be teapot themed? Some kind of china pattern? Of note - I think the lavender finger nail polish that can be seen will be the secondary color, which would make the scheme not identical to Charlotte's kit sponsor, Ally. A relief for myself although I can't say I really see where this is going. Of course, this could have nothing to do with the kit. I just figured the pink text and odd tea theme could mean something.
  17. Kansas City vs. Las Vegas Tennessee vs. Jacksonville Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh Minnesota vs. Chicago NY Jets vs. Miami Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta Carolina vs. New Orleans Houston vs. Indianapolis Arizona vs. San Francisco Dallas vs. Washington LA Rams vs. Seattle NY Giants vs. Philadelphia LA Chargers vs. Denver Detroit vs. Green Bay Baltimore vs. Cincinnati New England vs. Buffalo
  18. USC needs to hire a tackling coach. If anyone on that defense could make a real tackle the Trojans would've won by three touchdowns. Unacceptable performance to cap off a season full of "what could've been"s.
  19. I don't hate the idea, but I'd rather maintain the flow of the stripes by doing something closer to the Chargers: eliminate the logo and TV numbers and place the hoop over the shoulders. I'm fine if it ends without looping, because that would match the pants better anyway but I don't want it to be cut off before the taper. The helmet I have no idea what to do with, to be honest. Might be worth just keeping what we have without the curve towards the end.
  20. Probably tailored for a tighter fit. Henry Anderson has the same thing. I hate it, personally. This was a custom tailor job, not a problem with the template or the design. I hope the Panthers never make a major change.
  21. Actually, we wore the silver pants and black socks Week 1 of the preseason this year. Beyond that, yeah, the last time blue/silver was worn was 2017.
  22. This is not a drill the Panthers are in blue socks This is the first time we've worn the blue jersey with silver pants and blue socks. Since the blue jersey was introduced in 2002, anytime it was paired with silver pants it was worn with black socks. Gonna be a great-looking game in Tampa.
  23. To claim that the Oilers and Texans have no connection outside of location is ridiculous because they have one other extremely important connection: their fans. The same fans that cheered for the Oilers are the ones that cheered for the Texans when that team started and the Texans haven't done anything noteworthy to make fans forget about the Oilers (worth noting, of course, that the Oilers kinda sucked for most of their existence, but nonetheless the fans forged an incredibly strong connection with the brand). With no special memories associated with the Texans for most fans, of course fans will clamor for the Oilers back. That's the team they cheered for the begin with and even younger generations that didn't watch the Oilers live have the memories passed on by their family. So yeah, give me luv' ya blue in Houston. Let the Texans be the Oilers in all but name. That's the brand the fans want and that's what the team should wear.
  24. Been waiting to give my full thoughts on this series until you finished, so now's the time! Great work overall, as usual. CLT: Agreed on going to blue and I love that you kept the pinstripes. I do wish the gold had been kept though, I think it's a really cool accent color that would help separate the Knights from other teams while blue unifies the city. My favorite jersey is absolutely the blue one, really really nice job. I'm not as big on the purple, but I still like it. I'll also second that their old logo is better than their new one, and the old Caballeros logo was better than both. Still a team I'd love to support. LV: I really like the block gradient you've used here although I can't help but notice it's a lot like the Astros' Tequila Sunrise. Not a bad thing, and I think they're different enough to work, but might be worth noting. As a vest jersey hater I'm not huge on the all-black sleeves, maybe just a large stripe of black would work. The black alt is perfect, no notes on this one. Great set. The old gold isn't working for me, I'd rather keep the gradient. LOU: Nice move switching to purple. Not nearly enough of it in MLB and purple plus red is a unique color combo you rarely see. The red outline on the road script (which is gorgeous) clashes a little with the gray base, but I don't know how to fix it. The cream fauxback is excellent, easily my favorite Bats jersey you made. MTL: What can I say, it's the Expos at their best. That powder blue throwback is class. NSH: I've always loved the Sounds' logos (especially from their most recent rebrand) so I love that you use them here. That said, it feels a little busy, and a little minor league in a way. I think it's the black creating double outlines that's not working for me. As Coco noted, the Sounds and Aviators color schemes are very similar, so maybe dropping the black and going straight red and gold would fix it. Other than that, the jerseys are great. I'll echo that the racing pinstripes could be a little bolder to stand out more. The "Cooperstown Collection" is definitely more of what I'm thinking of, but I'd drop the white stroke between the red and gold. POR: Yes, yes, yes to the color scheme. The maroon and green combo is great. The logo is a little tough to read at a distance but I think that's fine. I love the T-bar striping on the jerseys, but I wish there was more green to be seen. It's too nice a color to be relegated to outlines. A green jersey would be particularly slick. Overall a fantastic set of teams that would all instantly be some of the best-looking in the MLB if they were real. Awesome work and I can't wait to see what's next!
