  1. I've also thought about Buffalo being in the rotation, if they wanted it. It just "feels" like a Thanksgiving-game-type place. Regardless, Detroit needs to be out of the rotation. I don't even care if they get good. I can't stand watching games from inside that awful stadium with it's crappy lighting. It can make even the most exciting game seem sterile. Regarding Kansas City... according to SportsCenter, they're having talks with Carson Wentz and "keeping the dialogue open" incase they need him. While I may end up eating these words, because that' just how the universe works, how poetic it would be for Mahomes to get injured* in week 15, Wentz to lead them to the Super Bowl, and then get smashed by his original team and guy that ended up taking his job. *I'm not wishing injury on Mahomes, just saying the situation would create a great storyline.
  2. What's your take on this - not necessarily the design, but the use of metallic thread in the star. It seems rather innocuous and tasteful (again, just the way the thread was used, not necessarily the actual design.)
  3. But they'll pay him $5M and let him cut into their cap next year. While that's not a lot for a decent backup, he hasn't proven that he's even that. If they don't feel like he's Dak's eventual successor (and he should be succeeded sooner rather than later), it'll go down as a typical dumb Cowboys move. That being said, regardless of how proven he is, I'd rather him be the Eagles backup over Mariota, who may not be any better than anyone on this forum at this point. Too bad they gave him $5M that they can't get out of. That being said, I doubt there will ever be another North Dakota State QB on the Eagles, even if Wentz' spiral from MVP to mental and physical train wreck was more about him personally and less about where he played.
  4. No team needed to get rid of their traditional away uniform.
  5. You take the first half of the UNLV game, I'll take the second. I'll get a petition started once I get off the toilet.
  6. Hail Mary can also draw a penalty - either PI, roughing the passer, etc. It’s rare - if it’s even ever happened - but I can’t imagine the lateral play has a higher chance of success than the Hail Mary.
  7. I honestly didn’t know that. So maybe he can keep hitting unless he wants to get a head start on rehab.
  8. What I meant was that Harper kept hitting in the same season, even with the tear, knowing he’d need TJ. Something about the UCL allows you to do the swinging motion without much pain, even though you can’t throw. Two key differences: 1. Harper fields right handed and bats left, so his right elbow needed TJ and that’s his bottom arm when batting. 2. Phillies were competing for playoffs / championships. Angels aren’t.
  9. It’s possible they knew there was some damage there and it would come out when his new team did a physical, so they kept him rather than go through the trouble. I hope like Harper, he can at least hit through it before going through TJ, though it would make sense to do that ASAP. May have cost himself $100M or more. Terrible luck.
  10. I forgot to mention - I'm the commissioner by the time this happens, so the players and each team's gorilla will only be wearing the primary jersey and throwback in the regular season, and any and all petitions will result in a loss of a third-round draft pick.
  11. I'd be fine with teams having preseason jerseys - kind of a "you have to earn the real one" type of thing. It would be a good way of introducing a third or fourth jersey without watering down the brand by wearing them in regular season games. The Steelers could have their yellow jersey, Patriots a gray one, Eagles a gray one (or maybe make the black one the preseason one), and so on. Then keep the regular season to the primaries and a throwback game or two.
  12. I don't understand this statement at all. A company logo on a hat makes it "authentic"... even though the hat is being worn in a major league game? Isn't that about as authentic as it gets? If anything, it takes away from it. I'm watching the Phillies. Their team is the product. But I'm seeing someone else's logo on their cap. There shouldn't be a totally unrelated logo interfering with the main product's logo, and it takes away some of the authenticity.
  13. obviously the situation in CA is more important, but I think this eliminated my chances of seeing Ohtani pitch live next week.
  14. Sorry Washington fans, but you're going to find out what a total doofus this guy is. This is only the start. Trust me.
  15. It's a pretty large complex. It's also where I get PT (security isn't too fun to get through this time of year... especially when on foot and not in a car and they assume you're a fan).
  16. They're on top of the north and south sides of the stadium:
  17. I'm still not sure how one even gets an x.com link. I've shared from mobile and desktop, and the "share" or "copy link" has always resulted in a "twitter.com", not an "x.com". Either way, I've successfully clicked on x.com links that are posted here, and simply clicked "share" from there, and it creates a "twitter.com" link that embeds. Editing the URL from x to twitter works too, but isn't practical on mobile, and requires taking it to notepad in between posting it on desktop (otherwise the auto-embed thing doesn't work).
  18. so it's a seasons vs anniversary thing? Also does the lockout count or do we just ignore it since it's easier to count the years?
  19. Was just reading their Wikipedia, and this run-on sentence doesn't even make sense and is a good example of why Wikipedia ain't exactly Encyclopedia Brittanica: "On December 1, 1924, the Bruins the first ever NHL game played on United States soil,[8] against the Montreal Maroons, at Boston Arena, with Smokey Harris scoring the first-ever Bruins goal,[9] spurring the Bruins to a 2–1 win." Regardless, aren't they celebrating prematurely? Shouldn't next year be the celebration since Dec 1 2024 falls in the '24-'25 season?
  20. I didn't realize it either, but the Jets had their logo at midfield in '98 and '99.
  21. LOL even LLWS umpires blow. This phantom HBP essentially decided the game given it was tied and the bases were loaded.
  22. Just from some admittedly quick and careless googling and looking at maps, OKC stands out as not being on any particularly-significant body of water. Phoenix has (I think) the Salt River, but isn't particularly close to the Colorado. Could be off.
