MJWalker45
Looking at the idea of a 12 team, 12 week league I think we have a few ideas of when the best time to play in this setup would be. If they go with the USFL start frame, the league championship wouldn't happen until the 13th or 14th of July. That's pretty late into the NFL calendar for those making the playoffs. So if they stick to 10 weeks, anyone making the championship game will still have to sprint on to their training camps with the NFL. Ideally, a 12 week season can work, but just moving it up to the first week in March helps finish the regular season by Memorial Day weekend, and the championship game is done in early June. A February date could then end the season on Memorial Day weekend, possibly Saturday so as to not conflict with the Indianapolis 500, which ESPN/ABC will give priority to. Teams were chosen based on my personal belief as to who could survive, not on official information. Week 1 TEAM A TEAM B Memphis Showboats v Seattle Sea Dragons Canton Aviators v Michigan Panthers Birmingham Stallions v New Orleans Breakers San Antonio Brahmas v Houston Roughnecks Orlando Guardians v D.C. McCall
According to XFL Hub on TwiX, it's looking like it may be 10 teams, with those not being selected getting "benched", with the possibility of returning in 2025 if they have a home location secure. A Pennsylvania USFL team is "in play". Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
Fowler
I can't see the combined USFL-XFL thingy lasting past 2024. Spring football always dies off. 2

McCall
Hub cities are a joke. If it's not the actual team representing that city, it's like watching football in 2020 - in empty stadiums. Even if St. Louis, who has set spring league attendance records, has a second team playing there going by another city, nobody's gonna go and watch them. 3 Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
Cujo
Quote "We’ve since heard the leagues will play in six hubs, USFL-style, rather than in the teams’ home cities, a la the XFL." Hub model still?? USFL just showed us that plan isn't a successful one. Ugh. Just kill the whole damn thing now.

GDAWG
if the league plays in Tempe, Arizona at Arizona State in April, that could be a disaster as it's super hot in the summer and it's unlikely they can afford to play in Glendale. ManillaToad
Hub cities would be lame but considering how much money the XFL apparently lost, it's not surprising
Cujo
- Merging two floundering leagues - Reducing from 16 teams to 10 - The continuation of hub cities 2024 will be their final season.

Local support is all that keeps business and interest going. Just call the whole operation now and don't waste anyone else's time. 4 Quote Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. If early reports are the only USFL teams guaranteed to play in 2024 were teams with stadiums, why are hubs a consideration again? This just doesn't make fiscal sense no matter how much money XFL teams lost last year. Those were, according to most, expected losses.

Yeah, XFL News Hub tweeted that, but followed up saying they have heard nothing like it and hope it turns out to be not true. Red Comet
Only explanation I can possibly think of for hub cities is cost savings. And therein lies the reason. Still stupid as hell and anyone who's over the age of 5 could see the problems with it. Heck, even a smart toddler could.
