I still think this is over in six...but we'll see what happens.

That's the thing about playoffs. You don't need to win four at once. Just one at a time.

The Grizzlies are the 2 seed because they won a :censored: ton of games. They just need to win one more, and one more again after that.

Don't have NBA TV so I didn't see it, but looks like Jimmy and the Heat did it again!

Allen didn't even get a shot off.  Good.  That guy injures other players (in college and the pros) and doesn't deserve to win anything ever again.

Jimmy Butler single-handedly took down the statistically best team in the NBA. What a legend.

The Heat can beat anyone.

The Heat are not a team. They are literally 'Jimmy Butler heroball iso' voodoo playoff ballhog stuff

What's the point of building a TEAM when you can basically get by with ONE guy literally doing everything? It's not team building in MIA,

And I don't want to hear anything about coaching.

Eric Spoelstra has NEVER proven anything without a big name player. Butler and the Heatles have always made him look good.

He's the Barry Switzer of basketball- they win in spite of him, not because of him.

He's an average coach carried by guys Pat Riley drops in his lap.

When was the last time an 8 thumped a 1 like that? 2012 when the 76ers beat the Bulls, but that was because the Bulls were a one-man team and the man's knee spontaneously combusted, and I think even they kept it sporting after Game 1. The Bucks got wrecked.

Miami sold their souls to the devil. How else do you explain their garbage regular season?

But it's OK for Miami. They'll go 38-44 next year but because they have JIMMY BUTLER they'll be treated like they only have to try hard in the playoffs if they get there.

Grizzlies > Spurs in 2011 and Warriors > 67-win Mavs in 2007. Both in six games.

A 4-1 series victory for the 8 seed might be a first.

Yeah this combined with the lower seeds in the west looking likely to advance definitely isn't going to help the load management epidemic. I wonder which of these will happen first:

A) Somebody wins 70 games again, maybe even sets a new wins record, due to actually trying in a league where no one else tries until April.

B) No team reaches 50 wins for the  season, because the good teams are Managing Loads and giving the finger to the idiots who still buy tickets for mid-winter NBA games, while the bad teams actually try because it's either a bad draft year with nothing to tank for, or because nobody owns their own first rounder anymore due to trading five of them for other teams' fringe stars so they can pay them $60M a year and load manage them for half of the schedule.

There is no rhyme or reason to try hard at all for 82 games. Milwaukee actually TRIED to get homecourt advantage after not getting the 2 last year. Trying is not good enough when load management and taking nights off gets rewarded.

Moral of the story- you don't have to try hard until April.

Miami's upset is a victory for load management.

Mike Budenholzer is probably done. Deserved or not, somebody's gonna get scapegoated after that.

Meanwhile the Kings are screwed.

I generally think it’s easy to armchair-coach after the fact in these situations, but Bud appeared to not know he had a timeout at a time it would’ve been very obvious to use one. Not the first time his in-game management has been a complete brain fart.

In general the Bucks shouldve had that game locked up and simply let Miami right back in.

I had high expectations for the Bucks given their incredible regular season, so their elimination is pretty deflating. It's still nice to see Jimmy Butler succeed though, which is just about my only positve takeaway from this series.

It would be easier to enjoy an 8-1 upset if it was a traditional underdog story, but this year was different. The Heat are regular contenders who had a boring middle of the pack season. The Bucks aren't really a universally hated evil empire either, so you can't even spin it as a "lesser of two evils" type deal. It all just feels so hard to enjoy.

My comment on Coach Bud is he's lucky KD has big feet. Things are a lot different for everyone if Durant's foot isn't in the line in 2021.

Great regular season coach; shaky in the playoffs.

Garbage? They won their division. That's not garbage, man. That's just the NBA punishing those who win weak ass divisions.

I believe both the NBA and NFL should have a "time management asssistant", someone who's entire job is to watch how many timeouts and/or challenges a team has.

Milwaukee was up 102-86 at the end of the third. The Bucks thought they had this game in the bag, and they forgot that Playoff James "My name is literally Jimmy" Butler was on the other side.

Call me crazy, but I genuinely think that, if Bam remembers how to play basketball, Miami has a chance at the Finals. they knocked off the overwhelming favorite, and one of Philly/Boston/Atlanta will take each other out, so Miami just has to get by New York (iffy) and then Boston/Philly/Atlanta (iffy). Not saying they'll do it, but they have a chance.

Is there a way both the Lakers and Warriors can lose? I'm just tired of the old guys hogging the spotlight.

One of the biggest things about the playoffs is the experience that guys have. It counts for a ton, and both the Lakers and Warriors are showing that. Kings have played fantastic this series, and are only down because the Warriors know how to keep it calm late in games long enough to pull them out. Kings have gone into panic mode a bit here at the end of games and it’s cost them. That’s to be expected though from a squad this young and inexperienced. Kings have a brighter future than they’ve ever had, and have sort of put the league on notice. It’s not quite their time yet, though. I’d be VERY surprised if they were to win game six.

At least in the next round you’ll have one of the Lakers or Warriors going home. Hopefully it’s the Lakers but I’m sure that’s not a popular take.
