Maybe if enough y'all raise a big enough stank about it and lobby/campaign/demand that orca concept become your primary crest, y'all can get the club brass to cave and raise that orca to its deserved place of prominence...

People are definitely voting with their wallets, from what I saw.

Also, the Sounders mascot is an orca. In my years of going to games, I don't think I ever noticed that.

I think they have mentioned that they have not ruled out a SSS out there someday as well.

As a local, that's not going to happen. No way. Starfire (their training facility) is basically next to an office park in the middle of nothing else. There may be a taco truck at a nearby gas station, but that's about it.

It's a misguided power play.

Not to mention I think MLS is going away from suburban stadiums for more urban stadium. It may be an NFL stadium, but the Sounders are perfect where they are currently playing location wise.

The only suburban stadium I could see happening with MLS would be a new New England stadium or if Atlanta ever even considered moving from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

If New England can be in an actual Boston suburb and not halfway between Boston and Providence,  I think it can work as long as they have it near an MBTA line. Public transport to and from the city is important. Also wouldnt mind seeing maybe one game  a year at Fenway. Same with Chicago at Wrigley. I know we are trying to get out of the baseball stadiums, but these are historic sports venues, who also have a history with soccer. I think we can do a game for the charm of the old venues. If anything it would be promotional, like how San Jose has done with games at Levis, or the Classico at Stanford. I think if we can get Colorado back into Denver as soon as possible the better. I think we need to get Dallas out of Frisco. Dallas can work in a suburb but Frisco is the wrong one. Maybe get them into Arlington with the Cowboys, Rangers, and not to mention their 2 team is already there. If we can get Philly into Philly as well that would be good. Chester is okay for a training facility but not an actual stadium. Im not sure about Kansas City though. I think they can hold their own being over in Kansas, plus none of the other KC teams are located in downtown KC.  I think Salt Lake does just fine in Sandy, and the Galaxy might as well just stay in Carson. LA has gone to LAFC.

  1. There's been rumors about the Revolution getting a new stadium since the mid-2000s. I honestly don't see it happening anytime soon.
  2. Moving FC Dallas out of Frisco to be closer to Dallas proper does make sense. Their stadium is the third SSS built for in the League. Hopefully, a new stadium will come to fruition.
  3. The Union's stadium location might not be ideal, but it works for the club. I can't see the club building a stadium in the Sports Complex area of South Philly or anywhere else closer to Philly proper.

Unless they get a Women's Team in the NWSL to play in Frisco or moving their Next Pro team North Texas SC to Toyota Stadium, I can't see them moving out of there.  They built the National Soccer Hall of Fame there at the stadium.

Toyota Stadium was partly funded by Frisco ISD and houses roughly third to half the district's high school football games each weekend. And I'm sure FISD would love to have it all to themselves without working around FC Dallas games.

I think they also would love to turf it over as soon as they could to get even more games in there, including the FCS championship game which is still there.

Yeah. If FCD moved out they'd be scheduling the turf to be installed that same day.

Well, there already is a commuter rail stop at the stadium. They don't run the train on Saturday nights though, and there aren't enough Revs fans to make doing so worth it, the way they run special trains there for Patriots games or big concerts. If you mean the subways of the MBTA, that would make sense but I don't see the obvious site where this would happen that hasn't already been tried and failed.

Unfortunately, with all the renovations happening at Gillette Stadium, the 2026 World Cup games there, and the fact that the Revs are a top-10 team in the league in attendance (22k per game this year, last I saw) ... I think the ship has sailed, as far as a Boston-ish SSS goes. I don't know how to make the economic case for it, even assuming that ticket prices would double.

The current rumor of the past couple years has been a site across from the new Wynn casino in Everett, atop some decommissioned oil tank fields or something toxic. Even that, though, I'm not aware the rumors have been anything beyond people saying "hey, that would be a sensible location for it", and again I don't see how the numbers work unless the casino itself is funding the whole thing to help along their dream of turning Everett into the Las Vegas of the East. Also, no public transit to that location whatsoever, despite it being close as the crow flies to downtown.

Best option would have been that old Expo Center site in Dorchester circa 2017 or so. Of course they put so little effort into getting the approvals right that the rocket exploded on the launch pad and calling it a "plan" is generous. Oh well, at least the parking lots are free.

Those are fair points. You're right that FCD is in Frisco for a long time. I found portions of their lease agreement and it states they're in Frisco to at least 2037!

But if they try hard enough, they could probably get out of their lease early. It worked for Chicago.

They may not want to though.  If they do, their best bet is Arlington, but they might get lost in the shuffle with the Rangers and Cowboys over there already.  As for a potential SSS in Dallas proper?  The only way I see FC Dallas getting a SSS stadium in Dallas Proper is if the Stars and Mavericks move out of the city and into the suburbs and in order to save face in the pro sports world, the City of Dallas decides to bring FC Dallas on board and there has been nothing to indicate that the Stars or Mavericks are looking to move into the suburbs.

I am of the opinion that FC Dallas will extend their lease in Frisco beyond 2037, probably into the 2050s.....as long as the Hunt Family still own the team anyways.
