BBTV
This is the worst game ever played. They could have broadcast canned footage of dogs catching frisbees and it'd be more entertaining. 1 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." The_Admiral
Go back to four preseason games and 16 regular-season games that mostly start on a Sunday. In America. This crap sucks. 5 1 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

There is an awful camera angle on Twitter zooming in onto Love’s knee and you can see a clear pop. Looks just like Rodgers pop from last year only in the knee. Just horrible. However, I can't see the NFL ever going back North of the Border as part of this. I haven't really given this much thought, but why not? The Bills in Toronto was lackluster, but they could bring more marquee teams in. Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton would be cool but you'd have to have that in September or October and then work around the Elk-simos. BC Place as well. No reason for them to go back there unless they intend to place a permanent team there, which they won't do. As for the game, I hope that Love is OK. What a terrible terrible game that should never have been played. I feel for Packers fans whose team now has an 0-1 record despite losing what should have been a preseason game played by 3rd stringers. Given the conditions (the field, travel, 24/7 security, the Packers riding a bus nearly 2hrs to the game, etc) that game was a total crapshoot, and it's a miracle that more people weren't hurt. I cannot believe that they pulled a game out of Philadelphia for that. Pull a game from some city that doesn't sell out or care. I've since read that they wanted Green Bay there because they thought that maybe their colors would get them to be "Brazil's team", which is just silly. Can't evaluate anything by that. Hurts looked like trash but it's so hard to tell what was actually pure stupidity vs players not being where they were supposed to be or him being worried about losing footing. I"m sure the same works on the other side too, though Love looked like he was more let down by his receivers than by anything of his own doing. They should really take the L off of the Packers' record. On the top of Jordan Love and the Packers— Why not give a call to Ryan Tannehill? He certainly can’t be any worse than Malik Willis having 3 business days to chuck a pigskin 50 yards in the air only to get anticlimactically thrown to the turf.
DG_YouKnowWhatThatMeans
What is the NFL getting from hosting games outside of the US? Do the host cities pay the league to be there? I generally get the idea behind growing the game and trying to help international audiences get hooked on football, but are you really able to do that 50,000 people at a time? American football is niche outside of the U.S. and it's taken MLS 25 years to be almost number 4 in the U.S., and that's partly off the backs of international talent taking a risk on a new league. How the NFL ever reasonably compete with soccer? Or basketball? Or volleyball? Or hurling or cricket or any of the ensconced sports in Europe, South America and Australia? Or, does the international series become a reason for the NFL to take Saudi and Dubai money? Because that would at least make more immediate sense. Everyone else is already doing it. 3 Quote 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

Do the host cities pay the league to be there? They've sold all the jerseys they're gonna sell in the USA so maybe they think they can get people elsewhere to buy NFL merch? Anecdotally, there's a good number of people that wear soccer stuff not because they know a ton or care much about soccer, but more for the "appearance" that they're cultured (for lack of a better word), so maybe the NFL thinks that the same could happen? Whatever their plan is, they really need to go all out for it. Tell the refs to stick their yellow flags so far up their ass that the sandbag part is jamming their mouth so they can't throw the flag or announce a penalty, roll out Field Turf (or find some way to fix what happened last night), DON'T HAVE IT BE THE OPENING GAME when teams don't play their starters in preseason anymore, and.... I don't know, maybe just don't do it at all. 2 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." At the bar for the game last night. They play some bar games during Packer games, one is the flag bucket. The bartender picks a name from a bucket every time a flag is thrown. That person drinks free (and also gets a flag thrown at them) until the next flag in the game. A fun way to make the penalties less irritating. Safe to say no one got more than 1 free drink last night. Sheesh. DCarp1231
One of the funnier things that happened last night was when the announcers were signing off from the broadcast, one of them said something along the lines of “So long from the first ever game in the Southern American Hemisphere”

BBTV
I really appreciate the TV maps, but we already have a thread for each of the uniform matchups and it seems like a lot of real-estate to take up in a non-uniforms forum. Just my 2 cents. 6 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."
