Nowitzki's jersey is a lot more baggy, so it throws things off. Of course different years would also leave the possibility that the sizes of the numbers were different as well.

I saw a LOT of Mavericks' games in those unis...the typeface and numerals were never that small.

One aspect I would be very interested in seeing - the trim on the letters and numbers were odd...White numbers (and letters) trimmed in Green, then Blue, then Green, then White. You really couldn't see the Blue in there unless you looked closely.

However, the original (1980-1981) road Blue uniforms had White numbers/letters trimmed in Green then White. Much better.

is it me or is the m with a hat on it recolored to the new mavs colors?

Definitely not just you - what's the point of Hardwood Classics if you're going to have the modern colors anywhere on the jersey?

Obviously a cheap replica of the original. Whoever they commisioned to do this, did poorly. I will say that you have to take into account the baggier top, and knee length shorts. But that does not excuse the fact that this looks like ****.

i think the shorts logo MAY be an illusion, but what im saying is that you have to see it straight on to determine what color the ball is. embroidery thread s often shiny, and consequently can look darker or lighter from different angles. look at the old picture and notice how the ball looks lighter than the shorts. i think the angle may be playing a trick and making the ball look like a very dark green. i highly doubt they would mess up that badly and put the modern colors on a retro uniform, so i think we need to wait and see it straight on.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

Nowitzki probably still has his old jersey from when they wore those. Didn't he wear this set when he first came into the league? Or was it decidedly different?

I believe that they were wearing the Blue roads with the block numbers and fonts when Dirk came in.

I think those older style Greens went out in the late-'80s-early-'90s.
