Madden 2005 Idea

I got a cool idea for all the Madden users in the house. If you have Madden (for any version, Xbox, PS2, PC, etc.) why not post some your game stats here?

Just a fun thing I thought would be kool.

Well, don't laugh--but Jeff Garcia, Dave Sapunjis, Willie Burden, and John Helton have just led the Stampeders to consecutive Grey Cups (I know the game calls it the Super Bowl--I pretend they say Grey Cup)

And the last one was all simmed--so no way to cheat!

okay....just started season 4 with the Cards and in my first postsesason I'd drafted Akron's Charlie Frye, with playing him when/if the season got out of hand in mind. Then dumb luck struck: the Packers, for some cockbrained reason, gave Brett Favre the boot. don't know why, and I put 2 and 2 together. Legendary QB + young QB + apathetic fanbase = instant credibility, overnight contender, fans lining up for miles to see #4 B)

Favre played for me for his final two seasons. 2005 went slightly better than we would have fared w/o Favre, as we went 8-8 while starting a rookie tailback (Chance Kretschmer, Nevada) and letting the defense develop. 2006 wound up being our breakout year, as we went 14-2 and beat the Packers and Rams en route to the Super Bowl, where we easily handled the Texans in what was sort of Favre's final blaze of glory. #4 retired after the Pro Bowl.

This year(2007), the keys to the offense were handed to Frye, who was a capable backup...thing is, his rookie backup has too much talent to ignore. You may have heard of him, goes by the name Marcus Vick. Yeah, that guy's brother. Basically I wanna make it back to the SB. Didn't get off on the right foot at first, as the Rams beat us in the first game at our new stadium. :cursing:

Ahhh... Right now, I have a season where I'm just messing around. Put it on pro, 5 minute quarters, and don't run the ball at all. Donovan McNabb is up over 5,000 yards with 78 TD's and 3 of my WR's are the leading vote getters at their position for the pro bowl. ^_^

In my last realistic season, I was the New Orleans Saints, playing on All-Madden etc. -- Was a real high scoring team, but couldn't stop anybody.

So over the course of the season, I traded away offense for defense, let Joe Horn go, traded Aaron Brooks, and rebuilt my offense through the draft. Well, while my offense of the future was still young, the only player I could rely on was Deuce McCallister and that would only get me so far. So eventually, I had a New Orleans Saints team that couldn't score much, but won games on the defensive side of the ball. ^_^

Before I deleted it, I had a pretty {alright, enormously} sucessful dynasty with the Cleveland Browns, and Kellen Winslow was the Vick of the team, he was what got us to the Super Bowl three straight years (39=Loss, 40=Win, 41=Win}, and the year we lost was the year he caught an injury in the divisional playoffs because I was dumb enough to try a pass play when I was up 34-3. :P

Ever since then, I've started a franchise with Atlanta and a franchise in which I moved the Arizona Cardinals in a simulated 2-year process to Mexico City and renamed them the Mexico Aztecs, with a baby blue and pale gold color scheme and the franchise player is a quarterback I drafted who that is like Daunte Culpepper and Michael Vick combined.

Lets see, I am in year 5 of my dynasty with the Eagles. I have won 4 straight SB's. Bryan Westbrook has become a better Marshall Faulk with his 2 mvps and 4 Off. player of the years. TO has become my main possession reciever and I have a deep threat at WR named Newsome (fake guy, obviously), who has 99 speed and burns almost every DB. LJ Smith is solid for 60 catches, 650 yards and 10 tds a year. I have had a rotating cast of 3rd WR's and back-up RB's due to their winey-ness of lack of PT.

My defense is awesome against the run, suspect against the pass, but I switched to the cover 2 which helped. I am 8-4 this year due to moving up to All-Madden and getting schooled, giving up 50 points twice this year.

I had a Patriots-like situation where Donovan got hurt and his replacement, a free agent Rohan Davey turned out to be friggin awesome. I traded Donovan to his hometown Bears for the #4 pick in the draft and eventually Reid retired, I replaced him with Gary Kubiak and my defense has sucked ever since (my games are like texas tech games, lol), only for Big Red to resurface with #5 in Chicago. The best trade I pulled was Corey Simon to Indy for Freeney and Tripplett, since all 3 guys have made the pro bowl. As you can tell I am an official Madden nerd! :P

Yeah, moving up to All-Madden really isn't nothing on any other game. But moving up on 2005 and it's like the New England Patriots every game :P

I know, man. Throws I could normally get through are being knocked down, especially slant patterns. I am throwing alot more ints as well. I like the challenge though.

On offense, I have figured out on All-Madden you have to diversify the play-calling, use your backs as recievers and don't force anything. It feels a lot more like a real game, where controlling the clock and field position really are important. Also, most of the drives I score on are long drives with atleast 10 plays with the key being 3rd down conversions as the difference between winning and losing. I find myself trying to get first downs instead of always trying to set up the deep ball. Good stuff.

On defense, I learned to not always use the hit stick to tackle on All-Madden because they will often times break it as well as on passes don't dive for balls or to tackle because it never works, especially using DB's. Key thing is don't let them get behind you and always play zone on passing downs. The cover 2 defensive scheme helps with the play calling in this respect.
