officeglenn 2,432 Posted December 19, 2005 I am looking for the name of the typeface used for the following:Cincinnati Bengals' numerals and nameplatesThe University of Arizona Mens' Basketball numeralsKohl's "15% Savings for using Kohl's Card" campaignThe closest I have found using all the search technology know of is the Noga family. As you can see, it's not exactly the same as the typeface shown in the images below. The tell-tale character will be the "1" as it has that unique serif. I need to buy this typeface, but I first need to know the name of it.Bengals (names and numerals)Arizona (numerals)Kohl's (the green headline text) I think that's one of the Engschrift or Mittelschrift families. Not many are available for free, but I think I did find one of them once. PM me if you want me to e-mail it to you.
BlueFlag 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Free versions of DIN are available here:http://www.triskele.com/fonts/index.htmlThere's only the regular weight, but you can beef it up with a stroke if need be.
slapshot 793 Posted December 20, 2005 They're all Din Mittelschrift except for Arizona, which is Univers Ultra Condensed.

BBTV 20,088 Posted December 30, 2005 Sorry to have to come on here and beg for help, but I'm having trouble finding a freeware version of the Doom (or something reasonable close) font. I found freeware Doom font, but it was totally different. Any assistance would be appreciated. This is not for commercial use.
Pixelboy 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Going by the image, Doom definitely looks to be from a hand-drawn sketch, not from a font.
Puddy 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Can anyone name this font ?I'd say that was House Gothic Condensed, with a few manual tweaks - and envelope distortion of course.TF Cavalier (Extrabold Upright) www.treacyfaces.com

gordie_delini 58 Posted January 12, 2006 looking for a close base font to Dan Simon's custom that he used in the new Toledo MudHens logohttp://www.ssur.org/news/items/2005/200511...ledoMudHens.htm
slapshot 793 Posted January 12, 2006 Not too many slab serif fonts I can think of like that. You might want to start out with Berthold City Medium, then modify it from there. Maybe even Helvetica Compressed, and lessen the curves in it.
awuestenfeld 2 Posted January 14, 2006 I am looking for the font, Arizona uses for their wordmark in red here. If its a custom, then does anyone have the wordmark already in vector form? Your help is appreciated!!!Thank you!!!Anthony
slapshot 793 Posted January 14, 2006 The font for "Arizona" is custom. The font for Wildcats is Friz Quadrata.
andrewharrington 4,786 Posted January 15, 2006 Only the "R" is really custom, and the joined letters would have to be done manually, of course, but yes, pretty much anything having to do with the U of A will be Friz Quadrata, and no, it's not free.
Jigga 40 Posted January 15, 2006 Anticlaire Display SSi and Fritz are two closely related font options, but would still require lots of tweaking to recreate the UA workmark above.

I'll try to find one, but maybe someone already knows....Thx Do you mean for the NHL on NBC logo, or the font for all other graphics?NBC Sports uses Interstate for its graphics, mostly Interstate Bold Condensed. A freeware version is called Blue Highway, but it has nowhere near the amount of variations as the true version of Interstate has.
Hennisch 0 Posted January 21, 2006 Thx for your fast reply. Here's what I mean:
andrewharrington 4,786 Posted January 22, 2006 Actually, for free fonts resembling Interstate, Clearview, and DIN 1451, the RoadGeek versions are difficult to beat, and they have all the weight and style variations as well.
