wheateater
Bad news for us Kings fans: Sportsnet says "it has learned" that Palffy has signed a 3-year, $13.5 million contract with Pittsburgh. EDIT: TSN has now jumped in on this one. Sadly, I guess it's true.Yeah, as if they needed more offensive help. Screw you, Mario. Screw....you... BCBoy
I wonder if Pittsburgh would've spent all this money if Crosby hadn't come to there team...all of a sudden I'm not counting them out of the playoffs, especially if they can still get CuJo too. Brass
Pittsburgh is going to have 1 1/2 lines of stars, and then the other half of minor leaguers. Not sure there going to do that great. Note that their defense will still be porous at best. Marc-Andre Fleury is not gonna be enough to keep the Pens from allowing nearly 4 goals/game when he's facing 45 shots night in, night out. And, yeah, I'm a little bitter that Dave Taylor couldn't snag Palffy for $4.5M/yr, but I still wish Ziggy the best. Hell, that white jersey looks damn good with his name on it. FiddySicks
Oh, but it can't get more beautiful than this:It's sad to see JR go but hey, it's Peter Forsberg. I have to agree, its really hard to see JR go because he was really the perfect fit in Philly but come on, its FORSBERG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now what really pisses me off is that Philly wouldnt have had to wait this long to get Forsberg if it werent for the Eric lindros fiasco On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Welsch and Lannon? Who are those guys? I consider myself a really, really big hockey fan, and even I haven't heard of them.Point is that Pittsburgh's gonna be relying on guys with little or no experience...guys who haven't developed and won't develop for a few years yet. They've got potential, but there's a long way to go between "potential" and "results" when it comes to the game on the ice. They'll be good soon, but by that time, Mario won't be on the ice anymore. Welsch and Lannon are 2 highly rated prospects from Harvard who got signed by Pittsburgh in the offseason thius yearI geuss I just want to see Pittsburgh succeed right aways with Mario still on the team but this team needs A LOT of growing up with such a young roster besides for Eastwood, Lemieux and RecchiPoint is that Pittsburgh's gonna be relying on guys with little or no experience...guys who haven't developed and won't develop for a few years yet. Yah, I agree completely with that statement, I geuss I'm thinking that these young prospects will improve IMMENSLY this year, even though guys like Kraft, Melichar and Koltsov will still need a couple years of seasoning before they have reached their potential. By the time Mario retires this team will be in VERY good hands

Andy
On another note, since when did Pittsburgh go from bankruptcy to team raiding? Well, maybe teams like the Kings should've been thinking about this when they were raiding high-priced "stars" like Martin Straka from the Penguins. Sorry that our GM has a little more foresight and spends his money more wisely when he has it.
