Maybe he did not start until after he testified :D

he will be an interesting Hall of Fame vote. Tremendous numbers, but very under-recognized.

Now this...

I think Barry was in either way, but Raffi could be an interesting case.

Makes you wonder who else is full of bull$#!+

Then again considering he's only going to get a 10-day vacation, it hardly seems like much of a punishment. Kenny Rogers is getting worse for laying out a cameraman.

Somehow I don't think too many Baltimore fans are going to turn their backs on him upon his return. Cheater or not. :cursing:

We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.

hmmmm.... I wonder if he will go to jail because of his statement "I have never used steroids. Period.".....

Actually, my above joke means somthing. Being caught months after the staement, does not mean that he had used before so is not proof of a lie.

this is a real detriment to him. he lied to congress.....baseball should look into a more severe punishment. whether you like it or not steriods is cheating! plain and simple. i say kick him out of baseball

hmmmm.... I wonder if he will go to jail because of his statement "I have never used steroids. Period.".....

Though, something could have come up, it'd be unlikely jail would have been his punishment.

It's moot anyways, though, because nobody can prove he had taken them prior to that statement.

I'm not saying he didn't (if this current test is true, I doubt he just started taking them), but the law is all about technicalities and proof, and anyone trying to get him on that charge has none.

I don't he will go to jail either because no one can prove it. Now people will wonder if he had been taking steroids before.

Also, It makes me wonder about Jose Canseco and the claims in his book..... maybe there is a lot of truth in that book....

I saw, I came, I left.

Well, I would think Congress would be interested in this latest developement. I'm sure there will be sometype of investigation. Whether it will be proven or not is a different story.

I seriously doubt he just started taking them. You would have to be an idiot to start taking something after you have been accused of taking them and thus had to testify in congress about them.

Bill Clinton got off for lying under oath. Raffy should get the same treatment.

But Clinton never used Viagra ^_^

I think he actually said "I have never used and I never will use"

Sad but at least Big Mac didn't lie (Hard to hold him up as a role model)

You have Bonds who said he used "the cream and the clear" but didn't know what he was doing.

You have Sammy doing his "baseball been bery bery good to me" routine and suddenly forgetting the English language

You have Big Mac being Mr. Future who doesn't want to talk about the past

And now you have Palmeiro lying

Canseco's surreal life might be the most honest of them all.

And Frank Robby and Mays and Aaron get to watch these guys pass records that they earned the hard way

Suddenly Pete Rose doesn't seem so bad to me

I say keep them all out of the Hall or put all their plaques in the same place and label it..Better to leave them all out

Well, I'm not going to put these guys in the same class as Pete Rose. These guys were cheating but they were trying to win. Rose bet on his team which means the days he didn't bet on them he didn't try as hard to win in order to save pitchers for days in which he did bet on his team. What Pete Rose did was far worse, in terms of baseball, than what any of these players did. None of these players in the steroid scandal direclty or indirectly tanked games. What they did was wrong and they need to face severe punishment, but they are not in the same class as Pete Rose. Pete Rose is worse.

I'm not saying this makes Rose clean, but i think it is equally bad. Maybe it isn't cheating because it wasn't illegal, but anything that gives someone an unfair advantage over someone else distorts the truth of the game.

Maybe Pujols would have two MVP awards already?

Maybe someone besides the Cubs would have made the playoffs?

Maybe Frank Thomas (who has been outspoken about this) would be better judged in this area.

Maybe Andre Dawson would be in the Hall of Fame?

In total it is all pretty damaging to the game and the history of the game

Maybe Palmerio wouldn't have been Mr. Consistency. If I was someone like Dawson or Rice or even Dale Murphy this would bother me a lot!

Hopefully Palmeiro just lost his first ballot election

I agree with you. These players shouldn't go into the Hall. I think Rose is worse but using performance enhancing drugs is cheating and illegal. Everything you said it's true (with the exception of the Cubs, they only made the playoffs 2 years in this era).

I don't think Raffy is getting into the hall at all. There were doubts with the writers already. This gives them even more reason not to vote him in.
