pcgd
Well I have a crazy couple of weekends ahead of me, and I didn't think I'd be able to make it down to downtown St. Louis before they started to demolish Busch Stadium. So I took a nice day of weather on saturday and took some photos. Thought I'd share with you all.(btw...none of the links at the top work, thewebpage is still a work in progress.)http://www.pcgdstudios.com/octoberweb/busch.htmlPat

pcgd
When are they tearin' it down? distruction begins 2 weeks after the final out. They have through game 7 of the world series in their planning. They aren't imploding it anymore, but using the good ol' wrecking ball. I think it'll be harder to see it go this way over 90 days instead of 90 seconds.

FiddySicks
I hate that theyre tearing down Busch Stadium. That is by far my favorite stadium ever. Well there was a Sportsmans park I and II, and now we'll have a Busch Stadium I and II. Kinda suits the Cardinals.EDIT: Whoops!!! Looks like thisll be Busch Stadium #3, is that correct? countdorkula
Yeah, I was fortunate enough to get some tickets this year to see one final game at Busch... although it was against the Diamondbacks... AND they lost. Tickets were kinda hard to come by around here (I live about 35 minutes from the Arch), so I paid good money to see Jason Marquis give up 5 runs to a 3rd rate Arizona offense. Oh well, the seats we had were right next to the observation area where you could check out the construction of the new stadium, which was cool. bullsfan4life
im not a cards fan, but i love stadiums and i don't understand why busch is going down. why tear down a place were u saw legends like flood, gibson, ozzie, and mcgwire(well,i don't know about mcgwire). why a place were jack buck (rest his soul) told everyone to "go crazy" and told everyone to stop griving get back to life after 9-11. i hate it when stadiums get torn down. the ownners say because its a new beginning. almost every team in the league have a new stadium and the old ones get blown up. theres nothing a little reovation can't do.i hate to see this happen to st.louis. you guys and girls are some, if not, the best fans is sports. by day, you are regular people, by night when you are at a cards game, everyone knows you. thanks for the memories busch stadium "Everyone has good and bad days". LetsGoAdmirals
Went to Busch for the first/last time this year. To me, it needed some upgrades and I don't understand the "can't go here until an hour before the game" thing but it still seemed like a serviceable place. sacker12
I saw on the Cardinals website of what the new ballpark would look like from various point in the stadium. Very amazing. I'm glad that they put some version of the arches in Busch III. Those were my favorite part of Busch II.

Yep - Sportsman's Park was renamed Busch Stadium near the end of its life, so the current ballpark is Busch II, and the new yard will be Busch III.And if anyone asks - there were five ballparks called "Polo Grounds", so no, three ballparks named Busch Stadium is not a record. sacker12
If I recall, weren't there some Cardinals that said some time ago that one thing that they had always wanted to do was to spin donuts in the outfield?
