provine Posted October 29, 2005 Share Posted October 29, 2005 I live near St. Louis, and I'd really like to see an NBA team there. The city missed out on luring the Grizzlies or Hornets. Although I'll give props to Memphis, because thier new arena is awesome. (and I like the new uniforms)...So Katrina forced the newly relocated Hornets to relcate again to Oklahoma City. The owner says they're going to move back, they probably will, but I thought it would be fun to play around with the idea of the St. Louis Hornets. The home has a nice color combo and stands out as the better of the two. The road's wordmark and numbers are very plain... I think there's a thin yellow stroke, but can't be sure... either way, it looks too plain. The wordmark should probably change as well... a font in italics and then on an arc just looks awkward, like it's zooming over and toward the right. It looks alright straight as you have it under the primary logo, but on the arc it's just weird. The jersey design it's self looks too similar to the Grizz. Good idea, but needs to be played with more. I like the use of the Blues color scheme though... but then again, I would've like pink and yellow polka dots more than the hideous teal/yellow/purple/whatever the hell the Hornets currently use. If it were up to me, I would've never gotten rid of their pinstripe jerseys from Charlotte. I know one thing, the Charlotte teal didn't seem as overwhelming as the New Orleans teal does. I feel sorry for D-Mase having to wear those rags now I'm convinced the pinstripes helped to darken the teal visually, they should never have abandoned them. Of course if it were up to me they'd still be in Charlotte, sans Shinn. The New Orleans guy is pretty sensitive. One half of my family lives on the MS Gulf Coast, and my wife is from New Orleans, and I don't think any of them would get pissed by the idea of a jersey/logo concept.
