Uni Watch Mistake

From the latest installment...

...this will extend Nomar Garciaparra's streak of never having worn his name on a home jersey (following his stints with the nameless-at-home Red Sox and Cubs)....

Well as we all know, when Nomar was dealt to the Cubbies in mid-2004, they still had names on their home jerseys.

5 bucks says he calls everyone on this forum a nerd for catching that...

Paul and I are working out dinner plans for tomorrow night (after I fly into NYC)...

...I'm sure this forum will be quite the topic of conversation then, and on Sunday at the Uni Watch event in Brooklyn...

:P

Yeah.

Whoever did that was on crack or something. No way that was a mistake on the jersey.

Yeah accually it was. It happened either last season or the season before. The pitcher wore the jersey for something like two innings before anyone noticed it.

Is it just me, or does this picture show a jersey with Cincinatti spelled wrong?

That's Aaron Harang, he pitched most of the game for the Reds in the beginning of last season, until he got a new jersey out of the locker room. It was in Sporting News, and I'm fairly sure it was in Uni Watch too.

No, it looks wrght to me.

You need to look again. I find it funny that the original poster spelled Cincinnati wrong, when posting about something on which Cincinnati is spelled wrong. :P

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

yup, I saw that, it happened. The Reds clubhouse manager, Rick Stowe, was a good friend of mine back in Cincinnati. Shoulda wrote him bout that. He called me once in January and said, "get down here inside of 10 minutes. I'm packing for Fla and throwin' stuff out." I got a ton of shirts and stuff, including my alltime favorite, a red Russell T that Pete Schourek wore, softest shirt ever.

He also called me about when Deion Sanders left the Reds--a literal ton of Nike stuff just left there. Players like Jose Rijo and others just decended on his locker like vultures..I got there too late..

I think with Ramon Castro's stupid looking chest protector and the Nike/Rawlings/Majestic battle to get their products noticed we should have a new designer challenge.

See if you can come up with the ugliest possible way for the big three Coprorations in baseball to get their logos and designs all over any team you want. If you want the A's to have a giant cape with a huge Majestic logo, so be it. If you want the Mets to wear helmets with RAWLINGS in huge letters and a really tiny NY, so be it. Come up with the most apalling design you can. Have some fun, and post them here. :D

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

It was in Uniwatch. I want to say it happened to another Red too around the same time, but in a different game. Somehow, Harang and a teammate both got misspelled jerseys. Not exactly inspiring confidence in the QC folks at Majestic (or Russell, whoever made it).

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!
