Cujo
Bonds says he wants on US world teamBarry Bonds, the 41-year-old star slugger dogged by doping allegations, has reportedly shown interest in playing for the US team in the World Baseball Classic. But US manager Buck Martinez has no plans to adjust his 30-man roster and while Bonds would be eligible because he was on a 60-man preliminary lineup, it would take an injury to a current US player to open a spot for Bonds. First Barry says he wants to play in the WBC and becomes part of the United States' 60-man roster. Then he quits like a little baby because he didn't want to "take any chances". In training camp, he then becomes Eddie Murpihy's favorite baseball player by dressing up as Paula Abdul before a bombshell is dropped in book form, calling him out for juicing up on cow and horse steroids. 99% of Americans hate the man (again) ...and he wants back on the U.S. team!? As a fan, my response is simply ":censored: NO!"

zer0dotcom
I'd say he was SOL. He was asked, and turned them down. the tournament is already under way. Tough Barry
CC97
Definately... you shouldn't be allowed to add to your roster once the tourney has begun. --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram
TBGKon
Definately... you shouldn't be allowed to add to your roster once the tourney has begun. and if you are able to add, it should only be due to an injury, kind of like when Michelle Kwan was replaced in Torino. So then in that case Vlad Gurrero shouldnt have been added to the Dominican team either?I say cool. Thatd be one less threat for the Americans to deal with in the next few rounds. Bonds quit Team USA because he didn't wanna get hurt.
NJTank
Well I will say this after the LCS, LDS you can make changes to your rosters. Maybe you should be able to make slight changes after the 1st and 2nd rounds here too, as if you get over an injury or an urgent family matter. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Seadragon76
None of the team member were injured in Round 1, so Barry is hosed in that aspect. Also, do you really want the negative media attention he carries with him every day? The firestorm around him has grown massively in the past week and seeing him compete in international spotlight could easily spark more anger towards him. I believe you are allowed to make roster changes after each round of the playoffs, as long as they're on your 40-man roster.
Gamingboy
Dude. Barry Bonds would be the LAST player I would want representing my country. The, very, very, last. Insert Witty Signature Here.
Cujo
Dude. Barry Bonds would be the LAST player I would want representing my country. The, very, very, last. Including John Rocker?? I just don't see how Bonds think he can just get back on the team in the middle of their run after he straight up quit the team last month. He had his chance to play and but he would rather not risk injury for his country, something the other 59 players from on the original roster were willing to do. Bonds is such a mess. If he's not going "tranny" in Giants camp, he's being accused of having been the biggest juicer of all-time ... something Buck Martinez and Team USA wants absolutely no part of. VitaminD
Oh Barry. This full-court press of attempting to get good PR is more transparent than my office window.First, donning a Paula Abdul wig to be "one of the guys"... as long as the cameras are rolling. Now he wants to play for the US of A.Go away. Once and for all. Everyone's onto you, and you're not fooling anyone. Take you millions, and your stats, and go the away. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17. Cujo
This could get interesting if Team USA gets into the next round. Outfielders Johnny Damon and Andruw Jones have both come up with injuries over the past couple days, so U.S. manager Buck Martinez may be calling up some players from the original 60-mar roster, which Bonds is a part of ... that is only if the US does indeed advance. Stay tuned.
Swiss
Barry Bonds knows that he wouldn't be a World Champion via World Series. So he is trying to be a World Champion via WBC.Naaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!! They still have Griffey, Wells, Winn, Holliday, and Francoeur.
