WJMorris3
Just so it's clear, I'm asking for all picks at the outset, just to make things easy. Since we are posting in public, if we went round by round, it'd be easy for a leader to wait and screw the people behind them by just matching them. Also, I'm asking for the number of games for each series. Those who do not post the number of games for each series will be ineligible to score the bonus points for those games. Likewise, those with incomplete picks cannot get credit for the games they did not pick.I'll take picks for the pool up until 6:45 PM EDT on Friday, April 21, 2006.(and to answer another question... yes, I'm doing one for the NBA playoffs too.) Suigi
Instead of predicting who's going to win it, I'm just going to jot down who I'd want to see win the Cup, and who I'd want to see go down ingloriously in 4.I'd love to see the following teams win it all:Calgary: Revenge for 2004!Anaheim: Revenge for 2003!Carolina: Revenge for 2002! AND for the Hartford Whalers!Buffalo: Revenge for 1999!Ottawa: I know, I know, it's a travesty. But still, I'll root for them b/c they're Ontarian.Colorado: Could you imagine the look on the faces of Les Habitants when they realize they traded away a Stanley Cup-winning goalie AGAIN?! Montreal: 25 cups in 100 years...it's nice and rounded.Indifferent:NashvilleNY RangersTampa BayEdmontonPhiladelphiaSan JoseI'd hate to see the following teams win it all:DetroitDallasNew JerseyWhy these three teams? Because despite all the rule changes, the salary cap, and the newer style of play, these teams still dominate. And I dislike it. If anything, THESE guys are the old NHL. And if they win the Cup, it'll be oh so boring, IMHO. Eye
What's with no one giving any respect to the Sabres? Keep in mind, they won as many games as Ottawa and Carolina this year, and have mastered the Flyers all season. don't know. I have Buffalo beating Philly in 7 though. The Sabres have home ice for a reason. They have destroyed the Flyers this season, so I don't know why people don't like the Sabres in this series. I for one, do. Look at Philadelphia's playoff history. It's always their goaltending that's the problem. Now I know Niittymaki has played well this season, but something always goes wrong for the Flyers goaltending. Then the goalie is dealt, and catches fire (Brian Boucher going to Phoenix and having six straight shutouts) for example. Buffalo over Philly in 7. WJMorris3
I think it's official - the officiating seems to be the same as the regular season. No way Shanahan gets called for a penalty with two minutes to go in a tied playoff game two years ago.
