Its getting better, but it kinda has that decapatated look to it now. And, Do Blue Jays have that Mo Hawky lookin thing on the back of thier head? I thought that was only Cardinals.

this is an extremely docile looking logo for a football team...give it some personality. use artistic license. it doesn't have to look exact, just close. make it meaner. right now it's saying to me "football? dude, pass the bong."

There's one thing that bugs me and it's appeared in every version. Everytime I look at it, I can't help to think that it looks like the head of a cartoon owl with the beak of a crow.

I think creating a better flow between all the elements would fix a lot of the issues brought up.

I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?

Okay, here's what's most likely going to be the final logo. I might make a small tweak here or there, but nothing more major.

I made the eye look better, removed the light blue highlights (which made it look plastic). I moved the beak in closer to the forehead. I also added 'paint' under the eye like many football players wear.

The eye & eyebrow area may seem too busy, but it's because that's where I want someone to focus on when they first see it.

JP suggested that I take the bird and do the logo at a different angle, instead of a straight profile, however I chose to do it this way because the first Blue Jays logo was done the same way and I just wanted to take that and turn it from a cardinal into a blue jay the best I could.

I like what it is now and might make some minor changes to finish it out, but I'm not totally changing anything else.

Also, this is the alternate logo, as it will be the helmet logo but not the primary logo, I'm currently working on that one.

It's great as it is, but one thing still bothers me...the eye is still way too busy. Get rid of the blue two blue crescents above and below the eye and that should do it.

My opinion may or may not be the same as yours. The choice is up to you.

For future reference, the last way you want to bring attention to and accentuate a focal point is to make it busy. If you simplified this logo, you wouldn't have to worry about where the viewer's eye would gravitiate. Look at that Cardinals logo. 5 shapes: 2 for the beak, 1 for the eye, 1 for the head, plus an outline. Now yours. 15 shapes: 3 for the beak, 4 for the eye, 7 for the rest of the head, plus the outline.

The reason you need to accentuate a focal point is because you have too much information in the image. By making the eye busy, you're just creating a fractal effect; The viewer is overwhelmed by the image of the bird as a whole, so it focuses on the eye, and now the viewer is overwhelmed by the the eye itself because it's so busy. You're digging a deeper hole, and your plan is backfiring.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

Good point. I like it to be detailed, but I'll see what I can do without changing it much.
