I know from purchasing my own sticks that that is where the sticker normally is, seems odd that it would be on an NHL player's stick or not taken off. Or is it something else? I was chatting with the equipment guy for the Iowa Stars and he was telling me how he had to send in the serial numbers off broken sticks to the manufacturers. I mean, I know that's how it's oriented in the main logo, but, still--I don't know that hockey helmets do the same thing with their helmet stickers as NFL helmets do. My friend has several from when he played hockey for Wayne State(D-1) and none of his have a barcode.
