HedleyLamarr 1,393 Posted June 15, 2008 If Day One of the World Series is any indication, this is going to be an incredible tournament. Stanford puts up a cool 11 in the 9th inning to defeat Florida State, then Miami's defense goes to crap in the 9th, allowing Georgia to score 4 and top the top-seeded Hurricanes 7-4......Go Dawgs!
DarkJourney 186 Posted June 15, 2008 11 runs in the 9th. WOW. Go Trees!
kewp80 64 Posted June 15, 2008 I seriously have been rooting for Miami all year long, even secretly when they played and beat my hometown Tigers in the regionals. I played football with the Canes' center fielder Blake Tekotte back in high school. I would just feel really good for him.I still think they have the best team in the tournament...
Seadragon76 861 Posted June 16, 2008 Too bad they lost to Georgia...Anyway, today's action saw Fresno State clobber Rice 17-5 and UNC leads LSU in the 6th.It's the underdog's day in Omaha so far.
Island_Style 163 Posted June 16, 2008 I was 3-1 with my picks. UGA surprised me. Here are my picks for tomorrow:FSU over Miami - 9-7: FSU knows how to play with their backs against the wall.UGA over Stanford - 14-6: UGA is really hot. They arent the same team they were earlier in the season. Stanford, to me, isnt the same team without their pitcher Bleich.

Please tell me thats not true I don't think so. I know a pitcher on Miami was hurt but I didn't hear anything about Posey. Thank god.by the way Georgia has come back to defeat Stanford 4-3
HedleyLamarr 1,393 Posted June 17, 2008 Miami eliminates rival Florida State 7-5I thought I heard the announcers of the Stanford Georgia game say Buster Posey got hurt during that game too. Please tell me thats not true Posey batted in the 9th inning and walked. If he got hurt, it was sliding into 2nd as he was forced to end the game.....
DarkJourney 186 Posted June 18, 2008 Man does Fresno State seem like a team of destiny or what
B-Rich 1,205 Posted June 18, 2008 LSU Tigers still alive with a great comeback victory over Rice ....but we have to play UNC again.Fresno State does look tough.... and if my Tigers get past UNC, they have to beat Fresno State 2 in a row to get to the championship series... ouch.
Jigga 40 Posted June 18, 2008 God, I hate LSU. First, they win a BCS Championship Game in which they didn't deserve to even play, then they have this amazing comeback in the CWS.UNC should win this thing, right? No Oregon State this year...lol
HedleyLamarr 1,393 Posted June 19, 2008 UNC should win this thing, right? No Oregon State this year...lolUNC will be eliminated by the Bulldogs. You heard it here first!

FiddySicks 11,048 Posted June 19, 2008 Stanford eliminates Miami 8-3. Now on to face Georgia. Hopefully twice. It's gonna take a LOT of work, especially on Stanford's part, but a Fresno Stanford final would certainly be a thing of beauty.
B-Rich 1,205 Posted June 20, 2008 God, I hate LSU. First, they win a BCS Championship Game in which they didn't deserve to even play, then they have this amazing comeback in the CWS.UNC should win this thing, right? No Oregon State this year...lolDon't be a "hater"... But of course, yesterday-- even more fuel for your fire: In the top of the first, the LSU pitcher Blake Martin has a terrible start, giving up a leadoff single, gets one strikeout, then gives a one-out RBI double to allow one run to score, then beans consecutive batters to load the bases before walking in a run to make it 2-0. Then, as if on cue, the lighting and rains came, stopping the game for what will turn out to be 24 hours. Talk about a momentum killer for UNC. Geaux Tigers!!

DarkJourney 186 Posted June 22, 2008 Georgia defeats Stanford 10-8 to eliminate the Cardinal and advances to the Championship Series on Monday.Go Dawgs!Tough loss for Stanford. Good luck to Georgia. We could get an all Bulldog championship series but I think the Tar Heels will pull it off later today.
HedleyLamarr 1,393 Posted June 22, 2008 We could get an all Bulldog championship series but I think the Tar Heels will pull it off later today.Georgia will have a little advantage on the other finalist, since they'll be using their pitchers for an elimination game.UNC will have to hope for a blowout.....they've used their top relievers (and their top starting pitcher that's been used in a relief role) two days in a row already, might need to use them again tonight, and then possibly up to three more games. But I've seen Georgia Tech win three games in one day in the ACC Tournament a few years ago, so anything's possible.....
