Dave Ship
Here's the new jersey made by Puma for Italy. The blue is lighter; V-collar;a bigger scudetto on the right side;the texture presents the word ITALIA (and the four stars) repetitively. AJM
Decent kit...nothing too fancy, just nice and clean.
MJWalker45
I just hope they change the horrible home jersey font. The ones Puma puts ut now are horrid.
scottyvoodoo
I just hope they change the horrible home jersey font. The ones Puma puts ut now are horrid. Will probably happen for the World Cup but not this.
O_Town_Clown
At least it doesn't have the dark panels under the arms that made the whole team look like they needed a stronger antiperspirant.
dgthree
when did they switch to charcoal pants? I was watching the game other day and completely surprised by that.
Discrim
yeh, i was wondering about that...evidently Pewter Power's crossed the Atlantic. The US went all white, least Italy coulda done was go all blue.
Jezus_Ghoti
Saw a few minutes of the game and couldn't believe how bad the gray shorts and socks looked.
Linus
Apparently, as a few posters have said on here, the shorts are brown.
dgthree
I thought charcoal because they looked a lot like the refs full uniform. Here are a few pictures(same shot 2 angles). One looks black the other looks brown. Towards the end of the game I thought maybe they looked a little brown, but overall it was hard to tell. keynote
They looked brown to me. I really liked that color combo: modern, but very classy.
martijn
They're brown apparently. From footballshirtculture.com:A light blue shirt, dark brown with light blue socks and dark brown or white shorts: The new Italy 2009 confederation cup kit, manufactured by Puma is officially unveiled by the FIGC. The Italians will wear the new kit in South Africa at the Confederations Cup as a special edition devoted exclusively to this event. The shirt is available at the FSC Shop. This will be Italy's shirt until the friendly match vs Switzwerland on the 12th of August 2009, after that the classic Azzurro will return for the World Cup 2010 kit. This original colour choice is to honour the early 30's Italian National team, trained by Vittorio Pozzo (World champion '34, '38, Olympic gold in '36).'?It is a less intense blue - said the coach Marcello Lippi - but, whatever the colour is, the four stars are there and we want to honour this jersey. "Andrea Rogg (Puma CEO) said: '' This choice was made to honour early 30's National team, that used to wear light blue, with black shorts. We choose a dark brown for aesthetic reasons? chestnutz
I thought they were brown.Either way, I'm not a fan. While I hated their WC2006 ones, these aren't much better.
BJBerthiaume
I'm not a fan of these either. I can't say I hate the lighter blue, but I liked the old blue better. I don't like the brown shorts much for Italy. Another team could maybe pull them off, but the brown doesn't go with the rest of their kit.
Frankie
The jersey and short combination looks terrific. I wasn't a fan of the pit-stain jerseys of the last World Cup, nor the ones Italy wore at Euro 2008. These ones look class.
Linus
I loved the 2006 WC jerseys, the Euro jerseys were terrible though. These ones are pretty bad as well.
tajmccall
Brilliant uniforms. Weren't these designed in conjunction with a famous Italian Fashion designer?I thought I remember hearing this?
Fjm
I'm not a big soccer fan, but I follow it casually. Maybe I don't know their uniform history, but to me, Italy is royal blue. This doesn't look like Italy, therefore I don't like.
