Unused Super Bowl Logo?

I've mentioned this logo here before and have searched everywhere on the internet for it. I first saw it in a book, "The Big Book of Logos 5" and since then haven't heard anything about it, nor have I seen it anywhere else.

Can anyone shed light on this logo? Has anyone even seen it before?

Sorry the pic is of poor quality, the photo was taken via cell phone.

The cruise ship make me think that it's a logo for a Miami SB.

Would look good for San Diego too -- much better than the lighthouse logo they used for Super Bowl 37.

Because Miami is the only cruise ship port in Florida. lol

It's the biggest one in the world.

The cruise ship make me think that it's a logo for a Miami SB.

It was a prototype logo for the Super Bowl in Jacksonville. Hence the XXXIX.

oh haha, well I'm not wrong in saying it could work for a Miami Superbowl, maybe change the colours a bit.

It could, but IMO it could work equally as well for any southern city on the coast.

It works best for Jacksonville, though, because it hearkens back to the hotel arrangements for that game.

I'll disagree with you there since the Point Loma Lighthouse is a San Diego landmark.
