Amazing work as usual. I like the blue part of the wings resembling the blue and stars of the flag.

This might not belong here but since you're such an amazing artist it would be cool if you let the forum members throw out a list of ideas that might challenge you and you could choose one to complete.

For example, I could say design a new logo for the Tampa Bay Lightning, or the Cleveland Browns, or the Washington Wizards (since they are getting a new one). It would give you a fun challenge, and we could see our ideas come to fruition.

sure, im open to ideas, but there are plenty of great designers on the board. why dont we take a look at perhaps redesigning 'the 5 logos in sport most in need of redesign' or a collection of designs like those you mention?

You're pretty much in another league from everyone else, and that's not an insult to anyone else on this forum, either. Forget submitting that for a hockey logo... just send that straight to the White House.

I wanted to rip my eyes out after seeing the first one because I thought I would never see anything more amazing than that. Then I saw the second one, then the third one, and now I have to keep my eyes to see what else you'll do in the future. This is simply an amazing piece of work, and for why you aren't designing major sports brands I haven't a clue. I have to finish by saying "Mr. Davidson, you are simply amazing."

My wife just wondered if I was looking at porn because I yelled "holy jesus will you look at that!" I had to correct her, but the look she gave me after realizing I was gasping in ecstasy at graphic design makes me wonder if she would prefer it have had been porn.

Very nicely done... I hope you're doing a concept for the Canadian and British teams also. Would LOVE to see those.

As for whether or not it's anachronistic... I don't really think so. It kind of split between design (shape, I think) and color.

I think we see a lot of design coloration today that apes advertising and propaganda from the 30s & 40s. And it always seems to me that white is substituted for that kind of off white color, and blue or Navy blue gets replaced with a very dark blue or black. I think that may be modern design thinking that's what thing looked like back then, but I bet things were probably much more colorful.

As far as the actual design, what you have done with the flag stripes definitely fits in with the era. I think maybe the wings would be more detailed if it was done back then, and maybe less shadow on the beak/eyes as well.

But really, you have captured the overall "nostalgic" feeling quite well.
