It's a possibility. A-Rod is no longer a 40-50 HR guy. Yankees have the Cliff Lee money they didn't spend last offseason. Plus he's a great fit. Fielder would DESTROY the new Yankee Stadium.

...So? Don't complain next time the "arrogant Yankee fan" trope gets brought up. We all know your team has a lot of money. No need to beat us over the heads with it.

By the way, who says Fielder even wants to play for the Yanks? Cliff Lee and Zach Greinke didn't, even though the media hyped up both of those players going to New York as a "sure bet."

So just bringing up the possibility of a player signing with the Yankees makes me arrogant. That's interesting, though complete BS.

Agreed, as much as I'd love to see it happen. I just don't think that he nor Pujols would want to come to the Yankees. In my opinion, one of them is going to the Cubs, and the other will stay with their current team. That's just how I see it.

No one can get in the mind of a player. My original post was to point to something I would like to see happen. The Yankees signing Fielder I think is a possibility, for the reasons I listed, after Lights Out got his panties in a twist. Plus giving Fielders body type, he should sign with an AL team. Pujols is a different story, he's not a DH, and should stay in the NL, and I suspect he will. Cardinals or Cubs.

Geez, Davey Johnson is hardly recognizable in the dugout, I don't know if it's the glasses, or the jacket, or maybe he lost a bunch of weight, but they keep showing him standing in the dugout and it took me like 5 shots of him to realize that it was him. I have the sound down and I kept thinking it was some assistant coach. He looks like some old shriveled up lost little man. I'm sure he'll still be a kickass manager though.

Plus, aren't Sabathia and Fielder good friends? Cecil Fielder played for the Yanks, so you never know...

However, Fielder is nothing close to a sure bet for the Yankees. I'd give it a 50/50 chance.

I don't want to put a number on it yet, don't even know if the Yankees want him, but if they do, 50-50 is a good start.

They will obviously have to address the rotation after the season. Including re-signing CC if he opts out, which he probably will. (Pretty confident, either way, he'll be a Yankee this time next season)

Clearly, Pujols is going to be a Ray. After all, he hits a lot of home runs (and Casey Kotchman doesn't), and I want him on the team, so it's going to happen.

Clearly, Pujols is ending up on the Tigers. Miggy at third and Pujols at first sounds completely possible and destructive. Therefore, it shall happen. :P

Assuming the shoddy concrete work doesn't beat him to it.

Cecil Fielder played for the Yanks, so you never know...

Unless something has changed, Prince doesn't have the greatest relationship with his dad so I doubt the father and son thing is going to come into play.

Yeah I was going to say that as well, doesn't Pince really dislike his father? Like to the point where he won't even talk to him? I doubt that would have any effect on it.

Whoever is willing to pay a King's Ransom shall sign the Prince.

Yeah I heard the same things, Cecil ran through his money owes gamblers and is pretty much a deadbeat, and Prince was fed up with it.

Not only is it bad, it's downright hostile to the point where Prince has had security escort his dad out of the park during his games. Plus, Prince Fielder has stated on several occasions that he does NOT want to simply be a DH.

So did Adam Dunn, till he saw how deep the White Sox pockets were.

True, but even considering how strong a motivator money is, I think that Fielder is fueled by more than just that. After reading some articles on how bad his relationship is with his dad, I honestly think he could be fuled by something just as, if not more powerful. Spite. He doesn't want to follow in his dad's footsteps because he is motivated in seemingly every way to be better than Cecil, and one of the ways he can do that is by playing in the field for the majority of his career. I'm not saying that if the Yanks offered to make him richer than England he would pass it up, but if he gets a comparable offer from another team who can keep him at first, I wouldn't be shocked to see him end up with someone else.
