Jer15
The NFL doesn't really want to go into Toronto primarily because it'd likely spell the death of the CFL... and as much as the NFL is into crushing opposition domestically, interfering with a football league in another country is another matter altogether.I don't believe that.Yes, the CFL is doomed if the NFL comes to Toronto, but I don't think the NFL cares. The_Admiral
Why would the NFL in Toronto doom the CFL when the Argonauts are one of the weaker links of the league? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Jer15
Why would the NFL in Toronto doom the CFL when the Argonauts are one of the weaker links of the league? You don't honestly believe that TSN would still have interest in broadcasting the games if Toronto didn't have a team do you?Further to that point, with Toronto gone and who knows what in Ottawa going on (cause lord knows they can never really get their together) you have a western strong football league with 2 "eastern" teams struggling to get stadiums and one that is stable. The CFL is not on stable grounds as it is right now. Loosing the largest TV market could kill it. The_Admiral
I don't know. I'm proud to say that I have little to no awareness of the Canadian Football League. I don't even know what a rouge is. I just thought nobody cared about the Argonauts because nobody in Toronto cares about anything that's not the Maple Leafs. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

But they draw over 20,000 up to 30,000 a game.To say Toronto doesn't care about anything other than the Leafs is not accurate though. Ever heard of a little soccer club that plays on the lakeshore called TFC?But that's getting WAY off topic, so I'll leave it there. Hamilton's "re-build" of Ivor Wynn is complete b.s. and will only make the team happy for a couple of years before they start knocking on the door for a new stadium again. FiddySicks
I think that the NFL should seriously consider putting a team in Toronto. CubsFanBudMan
So in recent days, I've heard Minnesota, Las Vegas and of course the Cosmos are out there. Any chance the MLS will overexpand or is that impossible in the world's most popular sport? I know the league seems to be doing things right, but I don't expect them to grow to 30. Could just be the everyone throws MLS in their plans because it's the easiest sport to secure... who knows if any of the three will become reality. As far as the Vikings, I wonder if they'll go with an army theme in the stadium, i.e. fire off guns after touchdowns, etc. The advantages of getting away from the Metrodome site seem to be piling up. The NFL just lends itself to big stadiums in the suburbs surrounded by parking lots much better than baseball does.
