Question about Cowboys wearing dark (blue) jerseys

^ Lose, not loose. The reason they lose more often when they wear them is because they wear them on the road. Teams lose more often on the road then at home. There is no curse.

I feel the white jerseys should match the blues, in color and design (other than the number outlines, IMO).

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.

Ah yes, the play that saved my Thanksgiving, 2010. I could watch that all day.

:P

Pretty much made up for the Saints wearing the hideous black pants, which (to follow a trend here) I am CONVINCED are bad luck and should be avoided, just like the Cowboys blue jerseys.

It is what it is.

How are we doing this? If we are talking games that include home games or whenever they wore the throwbacks, everything pretty much gets eliminated.

Now if we are going on when the Cowboys wore their blue at the hosting teams place, that will have some stuff remaining.

What :censored:ing difference does it make if it was an exhibition game, a regular season game, a home game, an away game or the :censored:ing Super Bowl? Why are you needlessly complicating things? I asked a very simple question, against what teams have the Cowboys never worn their dark/blue jerseys? Who :censored:ing cares WHERE the :censored:ing game was played? What :censored:ing difference does that make? Are you saying it somehow doesn't count if the Cowboys wore their dark/blue unis on the road?

Please.

Just go away.

WOW! He was asking a :censored:ing question to make your retarded topic better. You proved that you are an incompetant :censored:, get over yourself or you won't last long around here you :censored:ing moron.

No, he is needlessly complicating what was a very simple question, which was what teams have the Cowboys never worn their dark jerseys against? I could give a rats ass as to whether or not it was a home or away game, an exhibition game or the godamned Super Bowl.

And if my topic is so retarded why did you even bother replying to? Why don't you have me on ignore since you obviously think I'm a retard? Nice bigotry against the handicapped you have going for you as well, as the current accepted term is 'specially abled.'

I too would like to see Dallas in their navy jersey set more often, but not at the expense of their throwback which is damn sharp. At least keep wearing the throwback for home games on Thanksgiving.

Perhaps a good question could of also been 'when were the Cowboys forced to wear their blue jerseys from the time of the merger in 1970 through 1981', which was the last year before improving them ??

When they changed the blue jersey set in the early 80s, I remember Tex Schramm being interviewed about it and he said it wasn't necessarily because of superstition that they liked wearing the whites, but that they never liked the look of their blue jersey set. Perhaps they only had one set of pants in their set back then?

The Cowboys wanted to have a blue jersey set that looked good because the trend was growing around the NFL where home teams would choose to wear their white away uni's just to force Dallas into their blue set.

Back then before they improved them in '82 and from the time of the merger in 1970, the only teams that I remember uncharacteristically wearing white at home to force them into wearing their old blue set were the St L Cards, Phil Eagles, and I'm pretty sure the ATL Falcons (playoff game) did that too. Also the 1970 LA Rams, but they wore white at home anyway under George Allen, and most-likely in inter-conference at the Dolphins too, because the Bills played in their home blues many a times at the Orange Bowl. If it happened in 70s inter-conference when they played at the Oilers or Browns, I don't recall it.

Joe Gibbs didn't come to the Redskins until the season the Cowboys improved their navy blue uniform set. He's the one who started the Redskins on the white at home trend, I don't believe it was George Allen. And as we all know, the Cowboys had to wear the blue set against the Colts at Super Bowl V because that was before the rule change that gave the home team the right to choose.

Tex was right, the look was all wrong. Blame it on those pants. Their jersey color wasn't all that bad, yet pretty much the same color as the '65-'71 LA Rams blue jerseys which George Allen resisted wearing.

The Rams blue is darker then Cowboys blue.

As far as Schram's comments on the non-wearing of dark jerseys at home, he has said numerous times that he felt it would be nice for the Cowbiys fans to see the other teams colors, rather then having to look at the same white jerseys every Sunday.

The Cowboys would wear blue against the Browns, but not against the Falcons in the playoffs. I presume you are referring to the game where the 'boys won on a last minute pass from White to Hill that was played in Atlanta, yes? The Falcons wore red and the 'boys were in white.

We've worn our dark blues against the Texans. On the first game in Texans franchise history way back in 2002. We lost 19-10. Couldn't believe it.

Oh I could, and I was there. Matt, we had a coke-head QB and not much else. If it's any consolation, Houstonians still yell "19-10" like some kind of twisted victory cry whenever they see Dallas fans. Sad, if you ask me.

I remember watching the game in Sunday Night Football, back on ESPN. Just awful.

It's especially sad, considering we've destroyed them in the two previous meetings. But, yeah those years were rough. Those awful Campo years were my childhood. I remember games like a loss to the Eagles, 41-14 in 2000. I'm from LA, and kids here would always make fun of me because I am a die-hard Cowboys fan and we sucked. Never stopped loving my Cowboys though. You're lucky to be able to see Cowboys games in person. I'd love to be able to go one Cowboys game in my lifetime. So when LA gets a team and they play the 'Boys, I'll go everytime. lol.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

Tex said that too .... it was all part of the same interview. He said they believed more people would come to the Cotton Bowl if they were able to see a different colored uniform each week, rather than blue & white each game. After that he was asked if they were superstitious about the blue jerseys as some felt they were, and that's when he said what I quoted, that they never felt comfortable with how the blue set looked and they had been forced to start to wear them more and more. This was early 80s

As far as the blue colored jerseys, when I said "'pretty much the same color" I didn't mean identical, just close. The Rams blue was a bit darker and definitely much brighter.

and yes, the Atlanta playoff game you mentioned was the one I was thinking of. I remember Atlanta blowing a 14 point 2nd-half lead in losing, but for some reason thought they wore white at home for that game. I was incorrect on that one, it was the following week in Philly where Dallas wore blue and the Eagles uncharacteristically wore their white for the NFC Championship.

And two years before that (1978), same two teams played playoff game in Dallas.

I listed some of those teams (Chiefs, Broncos) because I thought the original statement at the beginning of the threat was "various incarnations" of the blue jersey. And the Broncos wore white at home against the Cowboys in 1980 in case that Thanksgiving Day game wasn't color-on-color.

I also listed Colts in 1981, forgetting the more obvious Super Bowl V. And I had completely forgotten about Packers and Raiders in the NFL Network and Thanksgiving Day games of recent memory.

Thanks to all who filled in the gaps on this.

Don't get mad about it.

I don't have to leave. Maybe you should, if I annoy you that much.

You say how you don't care about where the game is played or who is the home/away team. You care enough to do this thread.

I gave answers. Be grateful at least.
