Still MIGHTY
I was ecstatic to see Erick Aybar finally get his due with the Gold Glove at shortstop. I think he got robbed the last couple years with Jeter, but he'd got his now.I was also disappointed not to see Peter Bourjos get a Gold Glove in the outfield, but he'll get his. He's still extremely young. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

FiddySicks
How the did Berkman win Comeback Player of the Year over Ryan Vogelsong? That's some nonsense. Cujo
How the did Berkman win Comeback Player of the Year over Ryan Vogelsong? That's some nonsense. That has got to be the most meaningless award out there. Rewarding someone for playing like sh1t the year prior. Why?
FiddySicks
How the did Berkman win Comeback Player of the Year over Ryan Vogelsong? That's some nonsense. That has got to be the most meaningless award out there. Rewarding someone for playing like sh1t the year prior. Why?In some cases, like Berkman's case, I'd agree. He didn't even have that bad of a year last year. And not to knock him too much either, he definitely picked up the slack from his miserable stint with the Yanks and the bottom feeding Astros. But the Cards sure as hell didn't think he was done, or they wouldn't have even considered giving him 8 million dollars. But in Vogelsong's case, he was a very highly touted prospect who the Giants originally traded for Jason Schmidt (!) and who fell off to the point where he was pitching in Japan the last few seasons. For him to come back on a minor league deal and do what he did absolutely deserves CBPotY. And I don't say that with too much Giants fan bias. ANYONE who did what he did should be recognized. As for the award itself, I understand how you feel it not being worthy. But with something as demanding as professional sports, where your window for sustainability is incredibly short and can be slammed shut by so many different things, I think it's a valid award to some extent. Gary
Parra has a Gold Glove and Hudson & Young have Silver Slugger? Are the D-Backs that deserving?AGAIN??? Really? Yes they are deserving, and it's Upton that has the Silver Slugger, both Hudson and Upton were both the best offensive players for their position, so I would say yes. Parra for a player that no one really saw at the beginning of the season is a very underrated defensive player and to have him win a Gold Glove is an honor(no matter how crap of an award it is). Dude this is a 90+ win team that played a great year. Why are you treating them like a 100+ loss team?

I definitely thought Aybar was better last year and the year before, too.But I also agree with crash. While Cabrera made the more spectacular plays, the errors did in Cabrera. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

NJTank
I still think Nova was better than Hellickson, but Hellickson would have been my second choice. 1990hornet
I still think Nova was better than Hellickson, but Hellickson would have been my second choice. Kimbrel was a no brainer.Hellickson had a better ERA, WHIP, etc. Hellickson far deserved the award more. The win/losses don't matter because the pitcher alone doesn't decide it, you need offense which more often than not, Hellboy did without.EDIT: My response to Yankees fans saying Nova was robbed. Shumway
I can't really argue against Hellickson's ROY win, but I really, really wanted Trumbo to win it. Without him, the Angels were out of the division race well before September.
