What other teams can go 32 seasons without meeting in the playoffs and still have such a fierce rivalry?(Still bitter Kerry) Hey people from Canada:It's not like the Kings took full advantage of Fraiser's act of grace.**in retrospect, it was because of Patrick Roy going all beast mode in those 1993 playoffs

The_Admiral
Last time the Leafs made the playoffs, I was a senior in high school who couldn't even enjoy the Stanley Cup because my entire April was devoted to studying for APs and being in a play. I remember during rehearsal, a bunch of us were hockey fans, so to get updates on games, we'd steal away to the cafeteria, stand on a chair to manually turn on a ceiling-mounted television, and watch on ESPN or wait for the score to come up on the ticker. One of us got to tell some other loser Bruins fan that the Habs just won their series. How far we've come. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
The Giant Pacific Octopus
Its been so peaceful here in Toronto that last almost decade not having the Leafs in the playoffs. No stupid "Go Leafs Go" chants evey five minutes. No stupid little flags hanging outside of every ones car. No propaganda, overhype and overexposure in the media. I couldn't even watch the Weather Network without having to hear about the Leafs.Hopefully they will go out in the first round and It can back to peace and tranquility. The Catch of the Day! Now if we can tank this week, walk away with Barkov, MacKinnon or Drouin. Plus where ever we pick with the Blues and Pens picks, gonna be a fun ride. Young Guns Part Deux! BigEd76
This will be the first time since the KC Scouts joined the league 40 years ago that the Flyers and Scouts/Rockies/Devils will miss the playoffs in the same season

I couldn't even watch the Weather Network without having to hear about the Leafs.Tell me about it. Back in 2007 - the one time that my local OHL team made the OHL Finals (they make the first round nearly every season and then bow out usually), the city went bananas. I was unfortunately quite sick that year, and missed my only chance to see them play in that round. But I could see evidence of how addicted small towns across this country are addicted to sport. Buses sported GO WOLVES GO in the LCD displays normally reserved for the name and number of the bus route, signs all over town, specials at shops - I'd say it was bandwagonism... Maz
Leafs clinch, Wings might not make it. This is one weird ass season.48 games are not enough to make it a legit season when every other one since 1947 (except the other shortened season in 94-95, which I also proclaim illegitimate) had 60 or more games. Asterisks for everyone!!!***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****The regular season is really only there to decide who should get into the playoffs, which this year remain unchanged. So it could be argued that whatever teams make it this year are more legitimate. The idiotic loser point and the shootout are far more asterik-worthy than length of schedule.
