For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Would have been more awesome if it were the Twinkie bus:

Don't ask why; just looks more awesome.

When was the last O6 Stanley Cup Final? 1979 with the Rangers and Habs?

That was also the last time the Leafs and Habs met in the playoffs. What other teams can go 32 seasons without meeting in the playoffs and still have such a fierce rivalry?

(Still bitter Kerry)

It's not like the Kings took full advantage of Fraiser's act of grace.*

*in retrospect, it was because of Patrick Roy going all beast mode in those 1993 playoffs

Hey one guy in Los Angeles:

I would have preferred a Leafs Cup victory in 1993.

Last time the Leafs made the playoffs, I was a senior in high school who couldn't even enjoy the Stanley Cup because my entire April was devoted to studying for APs and being in a play. I remember during rehearsal, a bunch of us were hockey fans, so to get updates on games, we'd steal away to the cafeteria, stand on a chair to manually turn on a ceiling-mounted television, and watch on ESPN or wait for the score to come up on the ticker. One of us got to tell some other loser Bruins fan that the Habs just won their series. How far we've come.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Its been so peaceful here in Toronto that last almost decade not having the Leafs in the playoffs. No stupid "Go Leafs Go" chants evey five minutes. No stupid little flags hanging outside of every ones car. No propaganda, overhype and overexposure in the media. I couldn't even watch the Weather Network without having to hear about the Leafs.

Hopefully they will go out in the first round and It can back to peace and tranquility.

The Catch of the Day!

So here's the Lineup the Flames are dressing tonight.

Baertschi-Backlund-Cammalleri

Reinhart-Horak-Hudler

Byron-Street-Stempniak

Jackman-Stajan-Hanowski

Brodie-Cundari

Giordano-Sarich

Butler-Carson

MacDonald

I really love how the kids have played since the sending away of Iginla/Bouwmeester and all the injuries that have happened. Now if we can tank this week, walk away with Barkov, MacKinnon or Drouin. Plus where ever we pick with the Blues and Pens picks, gonna be a fun ride. Young Guns Part Deux! Bring back Ol'Blasty and we'll have money to spend so it won't be as awful as 1996-2003

Tell me about it. Back in 2007 - the one time that my local OHL team made the OHL Finals (they make the first round nearly every season and then bow out usually), the city went bananas. I was unfortunately quite sick that year, and missed my only chance to see them play in that round. But I could see evidence of how addicted small towns across this country are addicted to sport. Buses sported GO WOLVES GO in the LCD displays normally reserved for the name and number of the bus route, signs all over town, specials at shops - I'd say it was bandwagonism...

Well looking back, was there anyone who was gonna stop prime Roy? Sad that he went AWOL on the Habs and told them to f#ck off in his unceremonious exit performance.

And for the record, here's hoping John LeClair and that Desjardis fool are skipping together, holding hands inside Central Park today.

Leafs clinch, Wings might not make it. This is one weird ass season.

48 games are not enough to make it a legit season when every other one since 1947 (except the other shortened season in 94-95, which I also proclaim illegitimate) had 60 or more games. Asterisks for everyone!!!

***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****

The regular season is really only there to decide who should get into the playoffs, which this year remain unchanged. So it could be argued that whatever teams make it this year are more legitimate.

The idiotic loser point and the shootout are far more asterik-worthy than length of schedule.

Ottawa needs a win and a Winnipeg loss (in regulation) to clinch.

With our luck this year, Winnipeg will win all three games.

Why? Because the temperature only reached the 50s today and you want them to feel slightly chilly?

Seems GameCenter Live has stopped showing commercials from the Ducks feed. Just as well, because I was getting sick to death of those San Manuel Casino and Pepsi adverts.

I've also yet to see that one with the smoking-through-the-neck lady, which is probably for the best.

EDIT: Taylor Hall scores an easy one for the Oil in the first minute. :censored:.
