Facebook rolling out new "Like" button

I noticed yesterday that the like button changed for me, however, I've seen no mention of it anywhere, so it must be a small roll-out, or test of a new like button redesign.

I personally like the switch, as it puts it more in line with Google+ and makes it stand out more. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts: I'll still never use it. From a branding perspective, though, it's a smart move. Uses more of their own color to make it stand out more.

Agree. And agree.

I don't understand why they're putting a random redundant facebook logo there instead of the iconic thumbs up.

Hey it's fraser! It's like a unicorn just wandered by or something. I feel like I should tweet about this or something.

Dont use facebook anymore, but I think the switch is a downgrade. They should've just tried upgrading the thumbs up sign. The new button kinda gives me pause for no other reason than it looks like it'll redirect me to another page or it would accidentally like download something onto my computer.

Could it be because the "like on Facebook" thing gets put on all kinds of different websites, from blogs to news sites etc, and instead of the generic thumbs up, they wanted to get their logo plastered all over those places? It makes sense if that's the case.

too corporate. looks like an official link to something. A like symbol should be an innocuous little button there to click on if you want to, not a "here I am! LIKE this comment or page! Right here! Click me!" Plus the lack of thumbs up is pretty much it's facebook's schtik right?

If it was me I would have just made it a upgraded thumbs up symbol with no letters or words.
