Never heard of inventing protocol for goaltender interference to wash out a goal as a makeup call for a roughing minor.

That was a poorly constructed sentence, I know. IDGAF, that was a poorly constructed existence.

I am freaking terrified of the 'Hawks, straight-out. Easily the hardest team left for LA to conquer, and today's Game 1 proved why Chicago is still unstoppable machine.

Negate the Bollig flop and Toews-Quick interference and we have ourselves a brand new ballgame. Here's then a summary of the game from that point on:

-Timely defensive moves by Letti, Oduya, Saad and Seabrook.

-Crawford making 2-3 Herculean stops by himself.

-Keith scores because the Hockey Gods give his wide-right shot the terrifyingly-consistent Chicago-bounce off of Lewis and Stoll.

-And for good measure, Hossa and Toews are involved in their usual "3-on-1 fastbreak goal deep in the 3rd" because SHICAWGOW!

Yeah, there are 28 other teams, and then there are those Chicago f#cking Blackhawks. Just thinking of that damn team gives me the shivers.

At least Games 1 and 2 this year aren't sandwiched on consecutive days because of the Rolling Stones.

lols for days at Hossa just knocking Potato on his ass with minimal effort. I can't tell if that was another one of his patented dives or if he just sucks at life.

I never understood why Brown was:

  1. Captain
  2. Good

I've never really seen him do anything that's really impressive. He's just sort of a guy.

That being said I'm no expert on the Kings. Nice win for the Blackhawks. They were a low-watt bulb at times, as has been the case throughout their playoffs, but their defense was excellent. Busy sticks, lots of blocks, and they were given a lot more room on the ice to stretch things out at times; something the Wild rarely let occur past the first two games.

The final score by Toews on the 3-on-1 get me semi-erect, I admit. Also Saad's beard/racing-stripe mullet is glorious.

Dustin Brown is really good at having been born in the United States. Also good at knee-on-knee hits. Other than that, I dunno, I guess he was among their better players before Kopitar and Doughty came of age and they fell ass-backwards into having Mike Richards and Jeff Carter built a team the Dean Lombardi way.

For those blasting the Dean Lombardi way, excuse me that he's built a team from the ground up through the draft and then filled it out with winners that other teams are looking to dump. Is it Dean's fault that Philly, Columbus, etc are stupid? You look at players that he's assembled and there's a reason they are good. You just look at Williams, Gaborik, and Richards who are all players that Lombardi got and are all 6-0 in Game 7's. Wouldn't San Jose, Anaheim, Vancouver, Pittsburgh like to have players that when it's on the line, they step up. Admiral, I realize your bitter, not because Richards and Carter and Lombardi are succeeding in LA, but because you're from Philly and that's what people from Philly do, hate everything. But just relax for a bit and watch the Kings and get use to it, because that's what Hextall's going to do in Philly if given the chance by management. Lombardi has made mistakes in the past, hence why he's in LA and not still in San Jose, but he's smart enough to learn from those mistakes.

As far as the series goes, I expect it to go 7. You have two evenly matched teams. I'm going to sit back and enjoy it, and unlike dbadefense1990, Chicago doesn't scare me.

Where did it all go wrong?
