  1. I know the Cardinals use thinner letters, but also have "tighter" kerning with them. Compare Paul Goldschmidt's name to TIm Anderson's. Goldy has 11 letters in his last name, yet covers about the same amount of space as Anderson, who's name only has 8 letters. I've noticed this with a lot of teams, having the letters spaced different along the radial arc. Randy Arozarena. 9 letters. Look how far down the jersey it goes. Now Goldy's a bigger guy than those two, but it seems to be more of a placement problem than jersey size.
  2. Yeah, damn them talented, likeable players who are upstanding citizens. They just flat out ruin the game.
  3. No, because this isn't an instance where a team is simply using the letter of the nickname (i.e., the A with halo for the Angels even when the were "California" or the Diamondback's D-Snake logo), this is them using an alternative nickname, the "A's". Therefore, it's applicable to use the 's.
  4. If your dream for the PAC was BYU and Colorado State, then that validates everyone trying to bail.
  5. I want a Wizards city edition in the Rams' "bone" color that says WASH.
  6. New Haven? Where is a team gonna play in New Haven? And when has New Haven ever been thought of as a desirable pro sports market outside of Minor League Baseball? Also, NY/NJ had a team and was a low draw, like LA. They have NFL teams so they're not as inclined to go to an "Indy League" game as those markets without a team. And Texas has 3 because, it's Texas... and football.
  7. Well it's a promotion. He was only GM with the Giants. He's gonna be President of Baseball Operations with the Tigers, the same position Farhan is with the Giants.
  8. If Cleveland wore those in one of those Aircraft Carrier games that the NCAA does, would they have to add a "NOT" patch above "Land"?
  9. It's been changed to just Las Vegas. May have been an accidental reveal. May have simply been a Freudian slip. https://www.espn.com/xfl/story/_/id/34584272/dr-jen-welter-first-woman-hold-coaching-position-nfl-named-las-vegas-linebackers-coach-xfl-finalizes-coaching-staffs
  10. When they announced the 2020 BattleHawks, they anticipated them moving into the soccer stadium upon completion. However, I'd assume they'd want City to be the only tennant during the inaugural season. After that, I guess it's kind of up in the air at the moment.
  11. I'm not a soccer fan, but I'm definitely gonna try and get up there to see a game. And maybe, if the XFL 3.0 makes it to 2024, the St. Louis team (BattleHawks?) will be playing there.
  12. Nice rant. They still look like .
  13. They're testing it in the minors. There have been some inconsistencies and inaccuracies I believe. Probably will see it in MLB in the next couple or years.
  14. Because it's connected to the city/state that they currently play in. Look at how many MLB teams where Negro League throwbacks when NONE of the teams ever existed in the Negro Leagues. But many of the cities did have Negro League teams and that's what they're honoring.
  15. Oh, dear Lord. Division names are subjective terms used to label a group of geographically aligned teams, even if not precisely accurate. This is why in the NHL you have or had Vegas and Arizona in the Pacific Division even though neither one borders the Pacific Ocean. Same with Phoenix in the NBA. Just because one team is in the south region of one part of the country, doesn't mean it fits into a south division situated on the other side of the country. The main problem here, like with many, is people only aligning based on linear geography when a more accurate tool is radial geography. You essentially take a circle to the map of teams and group them as best as possible based on how they fall within that circle.
  16. Colorado in the South with Washington, Atlanta and Miami makes no geographical sense whatsoever. I honestly want to know what your rationale is for this alignment.
  17. If the power conferences separate from the NCAA or become their own level under the NCAA or whatever, then it's possible some FCS conferences could move up to FBS.
  18. I had thought they might reduce the divisional games down to 13/opponent, but then I read that it would be 14 and the league opponent games would all be 6 instead of 8 at 6 and 1 from each division at 7. Now it turns out it is in fact 13 and 6/7. I would've taken those 2 extra league games and applied them to the interleague rival, so it would be 6 games, 3 at each home park instead of just 2. I'd have imagined they'd prefer the Yankees-Mets, Dodgers-Angels, Cardinals-Roy... Cubs-White Sox for 6 games instead of 4. Doesn't really make sense. EDIT: Looking through the schedule, I hate the Yankees, but wouldn't MLB rather have them and the Mets play 3 games at Yankee Stadium AND 3 games at Citi Field as opposed to just 2 at each place? Instead, they're playing an extra game at Texas and at Detroit.
