  1. I will not be surprised when this becomes a reality.
  2. I expected the colts to have a blue throwback helmet but I guess that's not happening.
  3. How did the Bears come close to orange pants and nix them but then put out an orange helmet? Who the hell is running this team?
  4. We've had surprise uniform stuff the last few years. The most infamous one being the Ravens gold pants which were one and done because the reaction was so negative. Chiefs and Rams once busted out throwback helmets without any prior announcement. I won't be surprised when a team unveils a new helmet suddenly before kickoff. It's rare that these things happen but I can see it. The question is will any of these alternate looks have staying power because some do and some don't. I feel like NFL teams are more self aware about knowing if their look sucks than in any other league.
  5. 17 games in a season, 2-3 games for an alternate. That's like 14 games with the primary uniforms and then you add in the Playoffs. It's fine. If we're going to have alternate uniforms can we at least match things? There's been times where the helmet didn't match the jersey and it was annoying. I find it ironic that on this board of all places, it didn't actually itch at us that a team like the Bengals or Jets were actually wearing the wrong helmets. Yeah, I get it the football helmet is "sacred" but so are hats in baseball and teams have had a million of those over the last several decades. What's the difference? I'd rather have an entire uniform match than the examples below. (I'm well aware of the Rams fiasco but you get my point) This alternate helmet stuff is going to upset some people and I understand, the Saints upset me but at the same time the rest of the designs have been good. If we just get simple color swaps then it should be fine, but the problem is I know we won't. I don't know how I feel about all of this as a whole and honestly the mere thought of going back and forth gives me an oncoming headache.
  6. No shot the Raiders have an alternate helmet that's not a throwback. After the Color Rush program ended they trashed the all white look and converted it into a throwback. The Raiders just don't like to screw around with their look. I would love to see this for a game but it's unlikely that it would happen. It's more possible than an alternate helmet but still unlikely.
  7. Looks like Lululemon is getting in the uniform rights game.
  8. Out of all the games the Giants want to wear a throwback in, why did they pick the Commanders? Did the Giants forget that Washington changed it's name and uniforms? The Commanders are going to ruin the vibe.
  9. This was a very welcome surprise. Too bad about the logo mismatch though.
  10. The way the gold looks is pretty good. I think they were counting on the shiny wordmarks and numbers to be the focus of the design so they went minimal. Overall the uniforms have character which is something the Utah Jazz don't have. You can see what I mean in this pic of Kid Cudi.
  11. The 49ers should have a Notre Dame style gold helmet. Kinda like a saxaphone or something. I mean what they have now is fine but I think leaning into the Gold Rush aspect would be cool.
  12. I'm not much of a Hockey fan so I don't carry the tradionalist type viewpoints on uniforms and with that being said, I always thought most of the 90's NHL uniforms were awesome. Having wavy numbers to go with the water waves is pretty creative. I understand why people didn't like the Islanders Fisherman logo but I personally thought it looked pretty good if you just forget that it's suppose to belong to a traditional type team. These logos are nice.
  13. Because most modern helmet styles suck.
  14. They always used the City court for Summer League. Warriors still had the 75th Anniversary logo on their court too. Teams use the previous seasons court because new ones aren't even ready to go yet.
  15. The Jazz uniforms in Summer League are terrible, it looks almost exactly like the regular uniforms and that's hilarious. The yellow they're using is just ridiculous, I'm amazed they actually this would be good. They are really gonna wear this crap during the season.
  16. I never liked that ultra detailed Eagles logo. It's too wide, too detailed and just doesn't evoke "team logo" enough to me. It was fine on the sleeves of the jersey but that's it. I like this one better. It's very "logo-ish" if that makes any sense. If they could pull something like this off then that would be great, and no, please don't compare it to the Falcons.
  17. The Lakers and Celtics wore throwbacks in December 1996 making this the only time the Lakers wore a road jersey and blue in The Forum. Also, Kobe didn't play in this game so if you see someone wearing this jersey with the gold NBA logo then it's something he never actually wore. Also, the Hornets debuted their purple alternate at home against the magic to open the 1994-95 season.
  18. The Giant Dipper rollercoaster is on the National Register of Historic Places. Belmont Park itself is well known and opened in 1925.
  19. MLB The Show 22 is using a different version of the Brewers City Connect jersey for some reason. I'm assuming this is the original version.
  20. The funny thing about the Pat Patriot logo is that they used a very detailed version on the helmet and only the helmet. It was actually simplified in other places. Here's the helmet logo, which I had to find from a Fathead sticker since it's very hard to find and the simplified logo is way more common and assumed to be what's on the helmet. Now here are the two versions that are everywhere and what was used in stuff like TV graphics, marketing, etc.
  21. Another interesting NBA Preseason oddity. In the 1995-96 Preseason the Sonics wore their classic uniforms in Preseason, all those games are rare as it is but they played the legendary 72-10 Bulls team. Several months later they faced each other in the Finals with the Sonics in a completely different look. The last image is from a game at Notre Dame to make it even more odd.
  22. Red facemask, white jersey, red pants. It was so good. Speaking of red facemask, an article on the Patriots website said that they actually thought of bringing back the red facemask this time with the throwbacks but the white one won out in a vote among people in the organization. They also seem to be aware that people want to see the Bledsoe era look again.
  23. It's interesting you bring this up, the Jazz court back before the mountains had a unique purple color. It looked dark purple sometimes then looked like plum or something another time. It was very weird and definitely a shade of purple that I've never seen any other team use.
