  1. I'm not a fan of Idaho's hat either. Why not put a gem stone in the middle space on the I?
  2. Can Marquette start playing football again so they can wear these?
  3. Love it, but... is there a way we could see the purple replaced with a brighter green? Like Austin FC? Otherwise your concept is an awesome mix of classic baseball and 1950s spook show, which is perfect for a team from Austin called the Bats.
  4. To me, a big part of the charm of the reverse retros is that they actually look like the North Stars when everyone is skating around. I feel like a lot of that charm is lost with a darker shade of green.
  5. The darker green looks good, but would Minnesotans want one of their teams to wear such simar colors to the hated Packers?
  6. The Bucks currently have a timeless classic on their hands. It's a shame it can't get more shine because the NBA forces everyone to wear weird designs and colors these days. I really hope they don't suffer the same fate as the OG Lebron Cavs jerseys. Also, it almost has to be counterintuitive to retire #34 now... right?
  7. My poor Bucks don't even have a "right" color scheme. The #34 Bucks jersey should be iconic. But it's not because the three players who made it that way all wore very different versions of it.
  8. I think much of this is tied directly into how unique a school's nickname is. In Wisconsin, if you said you were going to the Wisconsin game, most people would probably assume you meant the Badgers. But 9 times out of 10, people are still gonna refer to the Badgers game rather than the Wisconsin game. In Chicago, I've heard Illinois/Illini used more or less interchangeably... which makes linguistic sense seeing that one was derived from the other. But the next time I hear someone refer to the "Wildcats game" when they're going to see Northwestern will literally be the first time. Even DePaul and Loyola are referred to more by the school name than their fairly unique nicknames... even if they're referring to sports.
  9. Rufus King High School in Milwaukee is named after a union general and Milwaukee native who led the Iron Brigade, an infantry regiment of soldiers that came mostly from Wisconsin. Rufus King later returned home and organized the first official baseball game in Milwaukee at one of the union training grounds. When the American Association announced plans to expand into Milwaukee, I wanted this history to be the basis for the new team's identity. Some of the names I suggested were Ironmen, Brigadiers, and Black Hats.
  10. Every uniform in the original WLAF looked good and they seemed to go out of their way to have each team stand out from the NFL. Each one had a cool logo, cool colors, or both. The Birmingham Fire was my favorite because of the flames on the helmets and jerseys. I thought the Frankfurt Galaxy looked cool too. The Sacramento Surge had a decent logo, but I'm surprised their colors haven't been copied more often... teal and yellow slaps! They even made RWB look exciting with the Ohio Glory (too bad that team was the drizzling s--ts on the field).
  11. The Milwaukee Admirals are wearing special jerseys based on the people's flag for Milwaukee Day (4/14, like the area code).
  12. Maybe it's because this was the Warriors look when I really started to get into the NBA, but nothing about this looks off to me. Steph in those weird orange thunderbolt 90s unis on the other hand.......
  13. The Mighty Tigers of Milwaukee Riverside wore this on our football helmets and basketball shorts when I was a student.
  14. While I may not care for the fact that your schools names are so close to schools that actually exist, I dig these colors. Also... hello cigar bar I used to manage! Last building on the left.
  15. I felt cheated when I finally got to see the Packers in the Super Bowl just as they got rid of the helmets. Every year I watched the Super Bowl dreaming of when I'd finally see a yellow shell with a blue N superimposed on it. Figures the year they finally made it was the year they went to just the logo.
  16. Your Michigan looks a lot like Lake Superior State. Not really sold on the name. I'd prefer something more creative than just lifting the name and colors of the the real life school in that town. Ann Arbor University would work and could lend itself to a cool looking monogram.
  17. Did you try the star in the negative space between the two c's. Superimposing it on the middle C makes it hard to read. Otherwise, well done! Sadly, I think we've seen the last of geographically intuitive college conferences.
  18. I can promise this sums up the conversation that was had. Marketing Department: "Just call it Paramount Showtime. Don't overthink this." Executives: "The market will adjust to the name we want."
  19. I always wondered what happened to Storm. Turns out I was in one of the test markets. Man, there were a lot of soda brands in the 90s that were named like arena football/indoor soccer teams... Surge, Kick, Jolt, Storm, etc.
  20. This isn't gonna cause confusion in the marketplace at all. Local duopolies were a bad idea. I'll die on that hill.
  21. I always thought the Lions have too much history to do anything but block numbers. Or at least a spin on classic block numbers. Also, Lions lids shouldn't be anything but silver. Also your pants need silver somewhere, whether the base or the stripes.
  22. Digging the logos and numbers. But the colors are a little too close to Western, and out of context this looks like a UCF concept. Red, orange, purple, and sky blue are colors not associated with any major Michigan schools. Maybe start from there?
  23. You could literally make a dark green and white version of these of the Bucks regular home and away unis. Then keep these as their alts. Then they'd never have to change again.
