  1. This looks like it's gonna be a great series, this is a massive undertaking and I'm excited to see how you've completely reshuffled the NCAA and the first couple of uniform concepts are amazing. Looking forward to seeing this series continue, I'll be sure to follow along!
  2. Ahoy gamers, I finished high school! To celebrate, here's a couple of updates. I still have a few more teams to go, but I plan on finishing this series for good by the end of the summer. Anyways, onto the updates. Philadelphia Cannons Philly gets an updated logo set, including two new alternate badges, a slightly darkened color scheme, and tweaked uniforms. San Antonio Marshals San Antonio gets a complete overhaul, with the color scheme shifting from brown and champagne gold to maroon, black, and a sandy gray. The logo now consists of an Alamo-inspired shield adorned with a Marshal's badge and an SA monogram. Uniforms rely on unique striping and a western-style number font. That's all for now. I'm excited to continue updated the last few teams and hopefully finishing up this league for good. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  3. I wholeheartedly agree. When it comes to football, full color socks with stripes is the best of both worlds. Making them half white for the sake of tradition can mess up the color balance of the whole uniform in some cases. If the socks are gonna be stripeless and the color balance allows it, I don't mind half white/half color socks, but full color looks better in most cases to be. It makes color blocking much more pleasant to me, having four distinct blocks of color (helmet, jersey, pants, socks/cleats) looks really slick.Though I'm not a huge baseball fan, I always like it when baseball players pull up their socks instead of letting the pants hang down to the ankle, it looks gorgeous on most unis (Blue Jays especially, I've seen them pull up their socks more than anyone else, but I could just not be seeing other teams do it) and just looks a lot more athletic.
  4. The only possible changes for the Niners that I would like are adding back the sock stripes and making the swooshes and wordmark gold on the jersey. Just the slightest hint of gold on the unis would elevate it to the best uniform in the league for me, and it would still look like the Niners. That's all it takes to bump this set from a 9/10 to a 10/10.
  5. That's a great idea. I had my doubts about using the full badge over the other logos, but the Nash script works really well. For the sake of exploring all my options, I also tried out the other logos, just to get a feel for how they would work. I think I'll stick with the script for the foreseeable future.
  6. After years of being unhappy with them, I've finally scrounged up a serviceable update for the Nashville Rhythm, inspired by @edjb93's Tulsa Swing concept and @jaha32's Nashville Rhythm team. Nashville's new identity revolves around a custom script featuring a combination N/music note mark with the shape of Tennessee as a serif placed on a guitar pick badge. The badge also contains a trumpet motif and the triple star symbol from the Tennessee flag. Alternate marks include a music note mark and the N/note mark on guitar pick badges. It took a bunch of tries to get everything looking good, but I'm really happy with how this turned out. The uniforms lean more towards the traditional, the main goal was to use the colors effectively without going overboard with the music symbolism, as I felt the logos carried the theme well enough. That's all I have for now. Only a few more teams left to update before I'm finished with this series. It's been a super fun yet lengthy ride. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  7. That Nashville Rhythm logo is amazing. Funnily enough, I've got a Nashville Rhythm team of my own, but I'm jealous of that Tennessee shape in the music note. Wish I'd thought of that myself. This whole series has been a treat, all of the team identities and uniform have been impressively creative and well-designed. Great stuff as usual!
  8. I finally came up with a good idea for Vancouver a few nights ago and I was able to slap it together. I'm quite happy with how this one turned out, though it may need a tweak or two here and there. At the very least, I've got the general look of the team down and I'm quite pleased with it for the time being. Vancouver Ravens Vancouver's logo features a flying raven surrounding a bold V, adorned by purple detailing inspired by Haida art much like the Canucks and Seahawks. The uniforms feature shimmery feather patterns and pearlescent black/purple details to reflect the coloring of a raven, inspired by @nate.sweitz and @bmoore's Baltimore Ravens concepts. That's all I have for now, but I believe I'm down to only a small handful of teams left to update. I'm planning on updating Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, San Francisco, San Antonio, and maybe Miami, but after that, I think the project will be finished. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  9. Because I thought it looked good. The two teams don't even look remotely similar outside of having teal jerseys and white helmets. Let I checked the Dolphins don't have sunrise block gradient striping. Why does the Celtics' color scheme look so much like that of the Ohio University Bobcats?
  10. Ahoy gamers, I've got a few quick updates for y'all to give myself a small break from school.First up, St. Louis. St. Louis Archers I've long tried to give St. Louis a serviceable update, but I kept struggling with the Roman Gladiator theme and I wasn't super happy with any of my attempts, so I decided to try something completely different. The new name, obviously, is a play on the St. Louis arch. While the titular arch isn't present in the primary logo, it appears in the secondary logos and is the inspiration of the arching shoulder stripes. Said stripes are also a nod to the 2000s Rams uniforms. I'm super proud of how the STL monogram turned out, and while I tried to squeeze it into a badge, I thought it was iconic enough to stand alone as a primary logo. The flowy pants stripe is supposed to emulate the curves of the monogram. I'm not super attached to these uniforms, and they may not quite be there, but they're a suitable look for the time being. The logo, however, is here to stay. I impressed myself with this one. Québec Lumiéres Québec gets a refreshed logo and uniforms. The new look consists of a more detailed fleur-de-lis in a shield borrowed from Québec's seal, with a border design taken from the city flag. The new aurora pattern is now limited to just 4 colors, but is now more accurate to the shimmery ribbons of the Northern Lights. The uniforms are toned town a bit, but the striping retains the shimmery nature of the logo pattern. Dallas Outlaws Dallas gets a refreshed uniform and color scheme. The shade of royal blue is lightened a tad to more closely resemble the shade used by the Cowboys in the 80's, and the striping becomes more varied whilst still retaining a classic feel. That's all I have for now, I'm still slowly working away at perfecting all the teams. I've still got about 7 or 8 to go, some of which I'm pretty stuck on, but I'm still aiming to finish all the teams and the series as a whole by next fall. Whether that happens on time or not, I'm excited to finally wrap up all the teams and see what this league looks like as a unit. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  11. I like it. It feels distinguished yet classy, perfect for an academically rich yet historical school like Vanderbilt. The new V icon is nice, though a tad on the generic side and maybe too similar to Virginia, but it works better than a basic blocky V. The Star V is solid, nothing spectacular, but it achieves what it's going for without detracting too much from the new distinguished style. I hope the Star V will end up being the primary logo for the athletic teams. The new shade of gold is an upgrade, the previous one felt way to bland and flat, almost khaki-like. Overall, it's nothing spectacular, but it's a serviceable rebrand for a school in need of a refresh. Hopefully they'll update the uniforms to match.
  12. This concept from @Jeffery has always been one of my favorites, it uses the double red color scheme you're envisioning and uses truncated stripes to give a subtle now to the Arizona flag. It's a bit brash for the Cardinals, but it's definitely a solid idea. Remove the helmet stripes and I think it's a winner.
  13. Thanks for the tip. I've seen MPLS before, completely slipped my mind. I should've double-checked before using an unofficial abbreviation. I'll update that. It's custom-made, with some downloadable templates used as a reference. I haven't looked into making it downloadable so I'm not entirely sure if it would work on other drawing apps, but I could try it in the future. If I end up sharing it as a PSD or SVG template, I'll be sure to let you know.
  14. It's been a busy start to the semester, but now that I've found my rhythm balancing homework with life, it's time for some updates. Ottawa Gray Jays The Gray Jays get a redesigned logo at long last. The previous one felt way to flat and didn't evoke motion or feel like the bird it was supposed to emulate. It's been redesigned with much more dynamic shapes, better detailing, and it better conveys the cuteness of the Gray Jay whilst still feeling fierce. The helmets now use the updated wings from the new logo, but the rest of the uniforms remain intact. San Diego Admirals The Admirals get a tweaked logo badge. The laurel wreath is gone to help declutter the logo. The colors are darkened a bit, but still convey the sunny San Diego weather. Uniforms and font are updated as well. Minnesota Evergeens As part of the full division presentations over on my Bēhance, I'm going back and adding alternate logos to a bunch teams. The Evergreens get a full badge with the Minnesota state motto and some buzzsaw imagery, plus some tertiary marks to compliment the primary tree M logo. (EDIT: UPDATED WITH CORRECT ABBREVIATIONS, THANKS @chcarlson23 FOR THE TIP) Jacksonville Cyclones The Cyclones get a tweaked color scheme and redesigned uniforms. The royal blue is now much softer but still stormy and the silver is reduced to thin stripe detailing. The wordmark has been arched to compliment the rounded numbers, which have shifted from double outlines to drop shadows. That's all for now. I'm currently working on a full presentation for the Great North Division, so expect that to appear over on my Bēhance in the near future. (a follow while you're there would be much appreciated!) Outside of that, I'm still working my way to updating every team to the point where I'm perfectly happy with them. I've still got about 8 or so teams to go, but I'm hoping I'll be able to finish by the end of the summer. Until then, expect updates every 2-6 weeks or so. Until next time! Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  15. I hate all the stupid shadows and gradient textures. That was the only thing I disliked about the previous NBC scorebug, but this just looks goofy. Looks worse than every scorebug NBC has had since I started watching football in 2009. The previous one was dynamic, unique, and modern, though some of the shadows and textures didn't work. This is just awful. Not a single graphic looks good to me. Can't wait for 3 years from now when they change again.
  16. That's a good-to-great looking uniform and a great extension of Washington's brand under the new Commanders moniker, though a smaller wordmark and tv numbers would be ideal. Everything else in this entire team, from owner to management to stadium to logos to uniforms is absolutely awful. Nothing like a bad uniform reveal to ruin my day at 10:00 AM. The white set is the worst football uniform I have ever laid eyes on, and the black alternate doesn't fair much better. My expectations were low, but I'm still disappointed. I think having one great uniform in a pile of trash just makes it all the more infuriating. Why not just do a white version of this look? that'd be one of the better sets in the league right now and it'd work as a good evolution of the WFT's history. But no, Snyke™ had to happen and we're left with a horrid, mismatched, gimmicky, inconsistent, and downright ugly uniform set. Sometimes I wish actually talented people could be in charge of decisions like this, but alas, this is the world we live in. This rebrand, despite having a pretty darn good uniform combo, is the worst uniform set in the NFL, and I though nothing could top the Rams' all bone look. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
  17. Sketchy poster knowledge aside, I'd be very pleased with this look. I doubt that the black helmets or gradient stripes are gonna be limited to alternates (this is Nike we're talking about here), but if so, this would be a great next step for this Washington franchise and one of the better looks in the league, alternates notwithstanding.
  18. That’s one of the vents on the helmet template, not part of the logo haha. Thanks for the feedback and happy half-birthday.
  19. I turned 18 today! To celebrate, here's a batch of updates I've cooked up recently. Colorado Rangers The Rangers now have a completely revamped identity, with a sharp, mountain-esque badge accompanying a blocky and sharp number font. Uniform striping uses the same sharp angles found in the font. I'm not completely sold on the logo quite yet, as I feel like I could add a bit detail, but it's definitely a solid look and a step in the right direction. New Orleans Corsairs New Orleans gets a full overhaul, with the new identity now focusing on a more decorative and ornamental look. The uniforms use decorative filigree patterns in the uniform striping, and a Mardi Gras bead pattern is found in the logo and jersey collar. I could probably add a bit more decoration to the arches on the logo, but I'm not certain that'd be necessary. Los Angeles Suns The Suns get an updated version of their logo, font, and uniforms, with a stronger LA monogram taking center stage. The uniforms now have a modified sunrise striping pattern, and the helmets revert back to white. The logo and striping just don't work as well on a teal background. LA is another team that I'm not completely sold on yet, as I feel the primary logo could probably be simplified a bit more and the font may not quite match the uniforms, but it's a good direction for the team so far. Winnipeg Blizzards Winnipeg gets the most straightforward change, with a tweaked snowflake logo, blue pants, a new font, a slightly brighter shade of blue, and tweaked pants/helmet striping. That's all I have for now. Looking forward to finally wrapping up this series. I'm down to about 9 teams that need updates, and almost all of the other teams I think are finished. Ideally, I'd hope to get the series wrapped up before I attend school next fall, but I don't know if I'll make that deadline. Regardless, I've had a blast with this series, and the feedback I've received has been integral to me growing my skills as a designer. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  20. I find the Broncos set to be the least egregious of the piping/side panel late 90s-early 00s era sets, and I can see why it's stuck around as long as it has. It's not nearly as bad as other side panel uniforms out there, does a good job with color blocking, and is mostly consistent in application across the pants and jerseys. I don't mind the orange lines on the white set, there has to be orange somewhere and it adds it without taking away from the style of the rest of the set. I think it's a solid uniform set that has enough history with championships to warrant its 20+ year stay in the league. Nothing great, but certainly not bad either. That being said, I think it's time to move on. I'm not a huge fan of navy and orange as a color scheme for the Broncos, but I'm not particularly fond of any of the previous uniforms the Broncos have used. The powder blue color was unique, but it's definitely dated, especially given how it was used. I haven't seen a concept that uses royal or powder all that well, so I'm skeptical to see if the Broncos could pull of a return to a brighter shade of blue. If they stick with navy, and they likely will whenever they change sets, I'd like to see the Broncos shift to a middle ground between the current set and something more traditional, like @colinturner95's Broncos concepts. They definitely need to stick with orange as the primary jersey color. It's a unique look that sets them apart from the Bears and their similar color scheme. The NFL has way too much navy already.
  21. I put together a light blue helmet look for the Titans a few months ago, I'd be elated if they went with something like what I tried; It keeps the sword theme and shoulder yoke but retains the color blocking of the inaugural set. (Slightly ashamed self-plug) Admittedly, I goofed up on the shade of blue, and I'd prefer a more accurate Columbia blue, but I think it'd be a great starting point.
  22. That burgundy jersey looks promising. Between the ratio of the yellow stripes and the stars, it appears they're leaning into the DC flag imagery, which I'm down for. I'm skeptical about the possibility of black helmets and gradient mesh on the away, I hope they don't pull an Iowa State and waste their historic color scheme with all-black or anthracite alternates. I imagine the logos or name will be leaked from trademark files or something similar pretty soon, but I'm excited to see what the new identity will look like. If the Burgundy jersey isn't any more complicated than it seems, and the white jerseys match, then this redesign looks very promising, black helmet notwithstanding. Can't wait to see more, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
  23. The white on white is a fine look since the gold isn't as prevalent, but the mismatch between the jerseys and the rest of the uniform is unforgivable, especially on the navy jersey. I don't think the transitional set is quite atrocious as the mono-bone current look, but it's still worse than every other combo the rams currently have, and I say this as someone who absolutely hates the Rams' current set. I'd rather take gimmicky, over-designed trash than downright ugly color balance on an otherwise decent uniform.
  24. Congratulations, you just won the thread. That is the least popular opinion I've seen here on the boards. I don't know if I should feel proud of you or be disappointed in you.
  25. All good points. I'll look at updating the sleeve striping for Vegas for better consistency and try adding more white to New York. I tried black helmets for Vegas, but it just doesn't work as good for me. Really throws off the color balance and makes the set seem less cohesive. I'm fine with red playing a major role alongside black, since the two colors are so synonymous with cards and gambling. For Boston, I like the more modern style for the Mariners, especially since 4 out of the other 5 teams in the division are more simple or traditional. The yoke isn't supposed to emulate anything specifically, (though I noticed after the fact that it somewhat resembles an iconic bridge in Boston) so I don't mind trying a different way to use the thin lines. I won't be able to implement any of your suggestions for a while since finals and Christmas plans are rearing their heads, but I'll definitely keep them in mind.
