  1. On second thought, disregard what I said about an awkward bend. The Titans old sets and Texas A&M's uniforms looked fine with large vertical looks. I stand by my statement that such treatment would look horrendous on the Steelers or Dolphins throwbacks.
  2. Vertical stripes just don't work the same way. Rotating a historically thick stripe like the Steelers or Dolphins would just look weird, especially given the variance of jersey cuts. Plus, the way the shoulder seam is constructed, vertical stripes would have an awkward kink in them. I'd much rather stripes cut off at an "arbitrary" point than look skewed, bumpy, or plain weird.
  3. In the football concepts I've made, I usually place the Swoosh on the shoulder if possible. If I add a logo or numbers to the shoulder or add stripes that are on the bulkier side, I move it the the collar or on the upper chest like they do in college. I think stripes work perfectly fine on modern templates so long as they have room above and below to breathe. One of my main issues with how the NFL does uniforms is their insistence on the Swoosh on the shoulder cap, which - like @GriffinM6 said - is often the reason why stripes get smushed down on some jersey cuts. The Steelers, Bears, and Lions could easily have perfectly applied stripes if they either shrunk them a tad or moved them farther up the shoulder cap. Teams like the Browns, 49ers, and Vikings all have bulky stripes that work fine in application.
  4. I thought the base concepts were great, these fauxbacks are absolutely stellar! I love the Cannons, perfectly fits the revolutionary war style look you're going for and definitely fits the city of Boston - even the location format has been abandoned. Great job across the board, looking forward to the final few teams of this series!
  5. I'd love an orange alt for Auburn. For classic teams like them a simple color swap alternate is always a nice addition to their wardrobe. I hope they end up going orange facemarks full time, it looks amazing and makes the helmet and orange detailing in the stripes pop. Navy, white, and gray facemarks also look great, but orange has got to be my favorite option for them.
  6. Love it! Script is classy and the colorway is fantastic, I wish the Hawks (or any Atlanta team, for that matter) would try to incorporate peach into their color scheme. Red, black, and yellow looks good but is overused, especially with the rockets and Cavs using similar color schemes. Wish we had a full look and the side panel and short designs, but that looks pretty slick.
  7. Ah. I wouldn't know, I didn't start watching football until '09 or '10. I was still in diapers when that logo was introduced, in case you needed an extra dosage of feeling old haha
  8. Great work so far! You always pour loads of thought and effort into your work. Excited to see more in the future, I'll definitely be following along!
  9. Man, the great concepts just keep on coming. San Diego and LA both look lovely, keep up the good work!
  10. Not bad, but a bit on the plain side. The old one was a relic of the early 2010's and needed a refresh, but it had personality. It would've been nice to see the shield stay.
  11. Jaguars are next, had a quick idea for them that I'm rather fond of. While I greatly admire the original 1998-2003 look with the teal away numbers, I also find them to be a relic from that period that doesn't quite jive with Jacksonville's reputation in recent years. Jacksonville needs something a bit more modern in my book - not quite as modern as the Nike gradient helmet set, but similar. That set, helmet notwithstanding, at least gets points for utilizing the Jaguars' color scheme well. I attempted to emulate that set without being too gaudy, taking inspiration from @nate.sweitz's Jaguars redesign. The teal-flake helmet makes a comeback and gold is used in swooping stripe details. The logo is traced from @Htown1141's amazing Jaguars concept. Alternates include a black jersey in the same style as the teal and a throwback to the rejected 1995 design, which I can't decide whether to abhor or adore. It's the most 90's football uniform to ever exist. It needs to be worn. It needs to be seen. Gaze upon its glory. I tend to pick jersey models that aren't actually team captains, despite adding a captain's patch to the jersey. Ignore that please Not sure who's next, but I'll probably be adding more teams sporadically. I might even go back and update a few previous concepts, who knows. That's all for now. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  12. Up next: The Giants. I'm not a huge fan of their current mismatched set. I don't mind mostly blue at home and red on the road, but keeping the same stripes would help at least. I went back to the gray pants and added some multi-color northwestern stripes to both jerseys. Logo is a mix between the 70s and current NY monograms. Alternates include a 1993 throwback and an 80's throwback. I initially used Blake Martinez as the model, but he got cut the day after I finished. Hopefully it's not a death note situation. I'd love to hear y'all's thoughts! Hopefully this stays traditional while improving the consistency across Home and Away sets. That's all for now. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.
  13. Currently watching OU vs. UTEP. I like UTEP's uniforms and branding but I just can't stand the shade of orange they use. Feels too yellow-y and soft to work well in sports. I'd much rather they use something more bold and reddish like Illinois or Clemson, but that might make them a bit too visually similar to UTSA. OU looks amazing as always.
  14. Contrasting pants and jersey detailing might be enough to differentiate them, but in general it doesn't seem to be a good idea and should probably be avoided at all costs.
  15. Definitely my favorite jersey in Oregon's history, but the yellow sticks out like a sore thumb in this combo. I love the concept of using a school mascot as direct inspiration for an alternate uniform, but the yellow prevents it from being perfect in my eyes. swap the yellow for white and the black for orange and it's perfect.
  16. I saw this over on Instagram, absolutely love it. Perfectly balances modern and classic elements, the colors are perfect, all around one of the best Broncos concepts I've ever seen. Is there any chance you'd be willing to share where you got the templates for the 3 primary uniforms?
  17. Option 3 is the way to go, having the stripe go all the way through the dolphin's body looks off for some reason. The helmet M on options 1 and 2 feels more cohesive, though. Amazing refresh across the board, I'd be thrilled if the Dolphins went with a similar logo in the future.
  18. This series is off to an amazing start! I'm loving all the crests and classic imagery so far, and the amount of detail put into stadium designs and backstories is impressive. I'll be following closely, looking forward to what you put together in the future!
  19. Given how plain it is, I don't think it being nothing more than a teaser for a future rebrand is out of the question. It doesn't take much effort to go out a nab a basic red jersey and white pants for a quick photo or two, it probably costs pocket change for an NFL team. I don't believe any of the Cardinals' previous looks have included black number outlines, so I'm skeptical to call it a throwback just yet, especially when guys like Kyler Murray have specifically praised the striped sets from the late 80's. A wink to the fans with a teaser for new unis in 2024, especially after Bidwell has said a uni change is on the table, seems like a reasonable explanation.
  20. They already have 2 alternates, though. They would have to ditch one of their black looks in order to make room for a throwback, which I have heard nothing about. If they are ditching one, it's probably the white-numbered set. That way they can keep the needless monochrome black alternate for the fire emojis.
  21. I don't see the usual piping anywhere (though it'd be tough to see at this angle) and that number font is definitely different from the current. I can't tell if it's just the lighting but I think there might be some darker red detailing on the sleeve caps and the facemask looks white. If this is an actual sneak peak at a redesign for the cardinals, I would gladly welcome it with open arms. Simple works for a team like the Cardinals, and pretty much anything - aside from a nightmarish hypermodern mess like the Commanders - is better than the outdated piping monstrosity they wear now.
  22. There's no flat gold fabric elsewhere on the set, just the shiny stuff. If they mixed and matched the two sheens like Georgia Tech, it'd look atrocious, but sticking with just one works. I like the set as an alternate, wouldn't be opposed to Washington using the shiny gold on their set full time. I love their purple and gold color scheme, but the gold has always felt too plain and cream-like for my taste. I'd prefer a truer mustardy gold or something shiny like this, tradition be damned.
  23. I don't think it's a rip-off. The concept is clever, but anyone fiddling around with stars could come across this use of negative space. It seems way too unlikely to me that it's a blatant theft. It's the issue of "Too generic to claim plagiarism" that I've seen pop up dozens of times in my time with graphic design. The similarity in angles is a byproduct of the star segments themselves, that's how generic stars work. I've never heard of Multicanal in my life, nor seen their logo before, so I don't think it's impossible that Allan Peters hadn't either. Are they uncannily similar? Definitely, but given the geometry of stars and the simplicity of the concept, it's very likely a coincidence. Allan Peters is better than that lmao
  24. I'm by no means a soccer fan and thus have no knowledge of the team's history or visual identity, but I like it! It retains the same simple construction without losing the personality. I feel like the wolf head isn't quite centered though, moving it slightly up would make it more visually aligned with the badge. That gap in the ears makes the spacing look wonky as it stands currently.
