So Gerald (damn) Green signs with the hometown Rockets and scores 29 on 8/15 from 3 in a ten point loss to GSW. Houston hit 17 3PT shots and still lost big.

Woj reports Green will sign for the season.

There goes the Rockets. That cat is all style and no substance.  There's a reason why he cannot keep a NBA gig.

Rockets played without Harden, and the Warriors played with their 73-win roster. It was close until the end.

But Gerald Green now wants in since he's Houston born/bred.

Also, David Griffin on "Basketball Friends" was a good listen, but I'd like to heard Black Trey or Wos attempt to try Griffin.

(But the hosts did say Windhorst's Cavs management reports were false, which I disagree with).

Basketball Friends is the ESPN pod, right? What is the old Amin crew called? Killing off TrueHoop really messed things up for me.

ESPN True Hoop pod is now "Hoop Collective".

Those who left ESPN are "Basketball Friends" podcast.

Hoop Collective sadly hosts a mini-podcast weekly with Kevin Pelton and Kaleigh Brandt which is TERRIBLE! It's like hearing a second semester college freshman talking to a senior not accepted into any grad school as (s)he hasn't taken the GRE yet about "wordly things". I let it go just to have time to Lysol my bathrooms.

Listening to the Griffin podcast now. The Basketball Friends could benefit from shutting up once in a while and letting their guests talk.

Kris Dunn is balling out there. I'm happy for the guy. Never understood people writing him off after his first year in Minnesota, and thinking the return that Chicago got for Butler was lopsided in Wolves' favor. Markkanen and LaVine alone were a good haul for him, and they also got Dunn.

While I agree that Luke has lost the team, LaVar can't be saying this stuff.

Quote

"You can see they're not playing for Luke no more," Ball said from a spa resort in Birstonas, where he is staying while his two youngest sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, get ready to make their professional debuts with Lithuanian team Prienu Vytautas. "Luke doesn't have control of the team no more. They don't want to play for him."

"That's a good team," he added of the Lakers, who have lost nine straight games. "Nobody wants to play for him. I can see it. No high-fives when they come out of the game. People don't know why they're in the game. He's too young. He's too young. ... He ain't connecting with them anymore. You can look at every player, he's not connecting with not one player."

I was all in on LaVar Ball, but he really shouldn't be talking about the current team. Nothing good comes of that.

This is fun too:

Lavar Ball also said he is confident that LeBron James, whom he has never met, will be coming to the Lakers this offseason as a free agent.

"LeBron's coming to L.A. I know he's coming to L.A.," Ball said. "LeBron is not a fool. What's the only way he can beat Jordan? You can't get more championships. Only one way, to say every team I've gone to I've won a championship. Go to Lakers and win a championship, then you're better than Jordan.

"You can't give my son the best player in the league, and don't expect them not to win. Get rid of everybody. Give him LeBron and Gelo [LiAngelo Ball]. You got a 2 and a 3. And it's a win. It's a wrap. Then all you need are two rebounders -- [Julius] Randle and [Larry] Nance Jr."

Yep. LiAngelo Ball + LeBron = TITLES

Lavar Ball is an egotistical idiot who is probably hurting his kids more then helping them, all so he could push his dumb brand.

In other news, the sun rose this morning.

have you tried White Chocolate Pipecast? It's basically Cum Town minus Nick Mullen, which seems kind of like having nails without a hammer, and I'm not following the NBA closely enough this year to get it.

All of that sounds like porn.

EDIT: Downloaded and will listen today.  I really miss TrueHoop.
