They’re wearing a plain white teamwear kit (with mint green socks, at least) for the Challenge Cup: Apparently this is the only kit that they’ll be wearing during the Challenge Cup, and the jerseys will be auctioned off after the tournament. Presumably they’ll have different home and away kits for the regular season, but I wouldn’t expect them to be much more exciting than these. I actually like the placeholder logo, so they better improve on that when they come up with a final design. I ordered the Racing Louisville kits this morning, one for me and one for the kiddo. They were a little pricier than the other designs but they jump out at you and grab your attention so we had to get them.

They already have the logo, which is a simple setup. I'd guess red uniforms for one kit and white for the other one, using a Nike teamwear uniform. Digby
The logos at least are pretty nice for a temp brand. I like the simple modern treatment. Navy and turquoise and coral will be this era’s version of 90s teal and purple but that’s fine.
CaliforniaGlowin
KC's colors on the jersey needs to be on the logo. Colors are much brighter. Mint and coral are much better than turquoise/teal and red. Quote Last updated 8/

Bonnaroo42
Any news on the Red Stars? I know they're due for a new home kit, but honestly wouldn't mind if they just keep the set they have right now as it's ideal for any Chicago team. Would be interesting to see what they come up with though especially since the league kits overall are getting way better.

Perhaps a more significant issue is that the branding now has next to nothing to do with the region, other than “reign” being a soundalike with “rain”. And the fact that the Reign are an established franchise in the area. But this current branding feels like ownership could just pick it up and move it anywhere, anytime. Maybe they want to. A better compromise in my mind would be to use “Olympique” since this is still the closest NWSL franchise to the Olympic mountains, regardless of whether they play in Tacoma or Seattle. Olympique Reign sounds kind of silly but at least reconciles the two brands better. Olympique Tacoma or Olympique Seattle could also work although I’m sure it would spark unnecessary debate over which city can lay a stronger claim to the team. Meanwhile OL Reign will just get read as Ol’ Reign by many. I don’t know, it’s acceptable in the end, but it just irks me. 9 Quote My teamsNCAA: Washington StateMLB: Seattle MarinersNFL: Seattle SeahawksNBA: Portland TrailblazersEPL: Liverpool FCMLS: Seattle Sounders FCNHL: Pittsburgh Penguins

Lyon is well known in women's football because of how they've dominated the women's game in Europe. The biggest issue fans of Reign FC had however is the same one you have, about being able to simply move the team without a rebrand. Also, the current manager had issues with Lindsey Horan when she played at Lyon, making remarks about her weight and how she trained. I get what you're saying about the brand not being region specific, which is a good point. I'm less bothered by the use of OL. I think soccer fans by now have grown accustomed to names affixed with some sort of initialed prefix or suffix, like AC, FC or SC, that this won't stand out much, nor be an inhibitor. Sure, the OL may require explanation, but it's not a terribly complicated thing to explain. And the smartest thing U.S. pro soccer leagues have done in the past decade is market themselves to soccer fans -- who are less likely to require an explanation -- than Americans they're trying to convert into soccer fans.
