There are a few MILLION people in the Philadelphia area who care. People like me who have seen the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers all fall short in their respective championship series and the Eagles fall short trying to get there. I've never seen a Philly championship (I was one in '83 with the sixers), I have felt sick and hurt and angry long enough. Today is my day, today is our day, to finally celebrate and exorcise all the demons. I will be hurt if we don't win the Super Bowl, but for one day at least, Philly, its team and its fans can stand up and be proud participants on the grandest stage in sports instead of being pegged as losers or morons or whatever-else people who don't know us as fans or us as a city call us. Let us have our day now and our 2 weeks please because even if you don't care WE DO. That sums up my feelings exactly. I wasn't even born in '83. Sorry about spouting off like that, my adrenialine got the best of me and I shouldn't have pointed you out. When I first read your post all I saw was who cares, but after re-reading this whole thread I see where you are coming from so I apologize. I am not settling for the NFC title, but this gives us the chance to compete for the big one. After year after year of falling short, just the relief of getting there is worthy of us celebrating a little. But believe me, the level of hurt I felt after MItch Williams when I was in 5th grade, watching the collapse of the Flyers in 97 and even though the Sixers were not expected to win, the loss to the Lakers after winning game one reminds me to not be satisfied.
