Yeah, first black coach in the NFL (Pollard). What the hell is he doing in there? There are many people who aren't in that should be and the others can wait for their time like everyone else. NJTank
So was he a good coach? If Pollard is in the NFL HOF should Willie O'Ree be in the NHL HOF? www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

smith03
Friedman was the Marino of his day, The Giants bought out a team Detroit Wolvernies to get his services. Pollard not only a coach but great running back help lead the Akron Pros to 1920 championship. He later coach the team and help run an independent all back barnstorming team in the 1930s. Both players should have been elected years ago. Irwin and company are all great players but they still have years left of eligiblity. I think it is great that both Pollard and Friedman got in. For once the voters remembered some of the old time pioneers who help make the NFL what it is. Just say NO to gray facemasks.

It's because he's black!</Al Sharpton> Irvin isn't even in the same league at Marino and Young. Irvin didn't play in the NFL? I do think Irvin deserves to be there. He was an important member or the Cowboys' Super Bowl victories and should be rewarded as such. I saw, I came, I left.
Puckguy14
As much as he killed my beloved 49ers chances to get the Super Bowl two times, Irvin should be in there. Perhaps they are waiting to get Emmitt and Troy in there at the same time. 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions

Saintsfan
great choices. Nice to see the history of the game being recognised in the less reknowned picks. Thats one thing US sport is very classy about. 2011/12 WFL Champions

JQK
Don't know if anyone here remebers, but Harry Carson was a monster at linebacker, and was a member of the greatest linebacking corps in the history of the NFL.Can you imagin a defensive backfield with Harry Carson, Lawrence Taylor, and Carl Banks? Insanity!12 years is too long for Harry Carson. He should have been in the HOF 11 years ago. He deserves an invitation, and an apology.
