nitroseed Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Alright... here's my story: I've been to three hockey games in my life. ALL THREE of them have ended with a final score of 1-0, with the home team winning.February 1999 - Nashville Predators vs. Phoenix Coyotes, Preds win, 1-0. First ever home shut out win.November 2003 - Atlanta Thrashers vs. Phoenix Coyotes, Thrashers win, 1-0.Tonight - Jacksonville Barracudas vs. Fayetteville Fireantz, 'Cudas win, 1-0.Very, very odd. I'm going to another game in a couple of weeks, and if it happens again, the curse is confirmed.Anyway, wanted to show you all some pictures I took at the game. I had fantastic seats. This is the outside facade of the 'Cudas arena. The Jacksonville Suns' stadium across the street.View from the concession area an hour before the game. The view from my seat. Front row, behind the Fire Antz bench.A shot of our man flynnagain's work in motion.Yeah, I think I'll be going back.I was going to ask for a picture with the Ice Girls, but my camera died. (BAH!)
CC97 Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Nice shots... how low are those banners hanging? They look like they're a few feet above the ice. --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram
See Red Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Nice shots... how low are those banners hanging? They look like they're a few feet above the ice. Those can't be any more than 2.5 referee lengths above the ice. Those are way low.And those Ice Girls are nice. I'd love to share pictures taken from the NBA's Rookie Challenge on Friday night -- but my seats were too bad to take any worthwhile pictures from (but they were $45 tickets for free, so it's all good). So I didn't take any pictures.
nitroseed Posted February 23, 2005 Author Posted February 23, 2005 Nice shots... how low are those banners hanging? They look like they're a few feet above the ice. They were EXTREMELY low. I thought they would raise them before the game started but... nope. I'd guess about 15-20 feet in the air.
CaolinaJoe Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Were they same team that designed Camden Yards? "It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of thepress. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom ofspeech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given usthe freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes theflag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, andwho allows the protester to burn the flag."Marine Chaplain Dennis Edward O' Brien

Roger Clemente Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 The only Cape Breton Screaming Eagles game I went to this season had a final score of 1-0 for the Eagles, the game-winner coming with only 5 minutes to go.--Roger "Time?" TBGKon Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 The Jacksonville Suns' stadium across the street. and to think, thats a stadium for a AA baseball team. i have heard rumors that the Dodgers want to make the Suns a AAA team (apparently because Las Vegas has bad management, i'll try to find a story)
Mac the Knife Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I see it was "dress like an arena seat" night.
Phil Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I see it was "dress like an arena seat" night. No kidding... that whole section under the banners from that angle is pretty much empty.

Gordie Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 I see it was "dress like an arena seat" night. No kidding... that whole section under the banners from that angle is pretty much empty. It wouldn't account for all those empty seats, but maybe it was the opening faceoff, with some fans still filtering in.
Geoff Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 I've got some friends over there who are cuda fans and I am thinking anout taking a road trip over to Jax for a game. Athletic Director: KTU Blue Grassers Football
nitroseed Posted February 24, 2005 Author Posted February 24, 2005 The attendance was officially 1,336, in an arena capable of 11,000. It was a bit empty early on, but it filled up after the first period.
slapshot Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Is that actual attendance, or tickets sold? Lowell is listed as having an average attendance of around 3,800 (6,400 capacity), but that's gotta be tickets sold, because actual bodies through the turnstiles routinely hovers around 2,500 max. nitroseed Posted February 24, 2005 Author Posted February 24, 2005 I believe they said it was paid attendance.
