officeglenn Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I thought it would be good to set up a thread where we can all gripe and/or brag about who's doing well on our fantasy baseball teams, and who's not doing so well, like with the NCAA brackets. You know, keep it all concentrated in one place.Me first ... On my Yahoo team, I've got Shea Hillenbrand and Jose Valentin alternating in the utility (DH) spot. So far, Valentin has been putting up better numbers, so he was in yesterday and Hillenbrand was on the bench. But then Hillenbrand went 3-for-4 with a solo dinger yesterday, while Valentin went 1-for-5 with a run scored. Add in an 0-for-5 goose egg from Jose Vidro and a royal bed-plopping by Jake Westbrook, and I almost fell out of first place.Whew ... I feel better.
zer0dotcom Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 well I signed David Wells before the games began...great move there...and I dropped Brain Roberts for another 2B...and now Roberts is coming alive
See Red Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I'm currently winning in one of my leagues -- I'm actually the highest scoring so far, but it's only been through one game. I'm not very good at fantasy baseball, though. So I imagine this is just my team getting my hopes up before they ultimately finish last in the league. It certainly helps when all my starting pitchers won their games.
FiddySicks Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Damn Nick Swisher, hit two home runs for me one day, the next he goes 0-5. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: Sheโs still half convinced โChris Creamerโ is a porn site.)
TFoA Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Look at my pitchers on this day... And look at who I benched...I AM SO DUMB woops, cant see it. Anyways, I had Josh Beckett and Pedro Martinez pitching for me today... And even though they both kicked ass like someone stole soemthing, I benched John Smoltz, who decided to go bubonic on the Mets today. So, if you count Smoltz, that's a combined 35 strikeouts in one day... But Beckett and Martinez came up with 20 combined. LONG LIVE THE NL EAST ย ย
vicfurth Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 John Smoltz's first outing certainly didn't help me, but it seems he's rebounded...Plus, since Smoltz is classified as a reliever in my league, I can start three guys today.
zer0dotcom Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 But Beckett and Martinez came up with 20 combined. LONG LIVE THE NL EAST silly me...I protected Pedro...but released Beckett...
Mings Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Mockba's Defenders are currently kicking my BigHorns' asses.
IronChefShark Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Jake Peavy and Dontrelle Willis both got me shutouts this week US state flag concepts
Shmee Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 One would think that benching El Duque and starting Tom Glavine would be a good idea, no? The result this week? A net loss of about 32 points.Hooray for me! ย ย The world's foremost practitioners of professional tag-team wrestling. ย ย
See Red Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 My Third Baseman (Mora) took out one of my pitchers (Pavano) with a line drive to the head.

LONG LIVE THE NL EAST Wow, how many teams are in your league that you have those 3?I had a fairily good week. Beckett pitched well on both my teams. I beat Nitroseed in one and tied IronChef in another. Unfortunatly the weeks end on different days, otherwise I probably would have won both with Harden and Beckett pitching against ICS's team today. Oh well.
CaolinaJoe Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I'm glad the Rangers have their home opener today. Maybe, now my Fantasy teams can take off. At first I thought it was a bit of a mess-up after John Smoltz's performance on Opening Day. But, as I can see, I think I have a pretty good investment on my hands with the big 3 of the NL east....and Mussina ย ย
