Even people that don't like "plain" uniforms--some of you must agree that Oakland's are just plain tough. I love the helmet and while no new uniforms should be this plain, Oaklands are a great tradtion.The shield on the front of your jersey does not do it for me (I don't know if the NFL woud allow it since the grey may look too much like white which would create a BYU-"bib" problem). To upgrade Oakland, maybe the logos on the sleeves or a different number font. Or even silver sleeves. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." Magus Posted April 10, 2005 Share Posted April 10, 2005 oh the raiders most certainly need a change. i agree they have the most boring concept in the league. i don't like the grey scale look they have.i like where your going with your concept. i think the shield is unneeded but i love the sword on the side. i would love to see the raiders do a uni change and add a sword to the side. my only other suggestion is to add gold to the unis. the raiders have used gold before, in their inaugural year, and would give them a better complementary color than say silver. all will say, don't change for tradition sakes. i personally could care less about tradition. if it was up to the stick in the muds, all the teams that are still around from the inaugural year of the nfl would still be wearing the uniforms from the teams inception. change is good. change is money. money is good, so change is good. I think instead of "boring and stupid," a better choice of adjective would be "extremely well executed." Mac6674 Posted April 11, 2005 Share Posted April 11, 2005 The Raiders do not need a change. The logo's a classic, the color scheme is perfect, and the uniforms are simple and elegant. They most definitely do not need to jump on the alt jersey bandwagon with some stupid silver monstrosity, and they don't need stripes or a new font. Most of the uniforms introduced in the past 5 to 10 years have been flat out awful. the only change they should consider would be the silver #'s on the white jerseys; they did it in 94 for the throwbacks and it looked good.
