The uniforms were to be auctioned off afterward.Many of Marichal's former teammates were in attendance, including Mays, McCovey, Felipe Alou, Orlando Cepeda and Gaylord Perry. Now when will we see a Padres jersey that says "Fathers" across the front in honor of all the great midwestern anglo kids who played for them. (That would be a riot!!)And, of course, a Dodgers jersey that says "Dahgiz" for all the native NYers who played back in Brooklyn.
