Im watching the Oregon vs Houston game on ESPN2 and I see that Oregon is wearing white road jerseys and pants. Does this mean that they have ditched the Bright yellow "Highlighter" jerseys?

no, the highlighters are still around, but one of the many pointless rules the NCAA has on uniforms stipulates that the white jersey can't have too much color aside from the numbers. Basically, this prevents any colored jersey (with Hawaii's new silver roadie being the notable exception) from being regularly worn as a road jersey, even if it's light enough that you can clearly tell it apart from most other colored jerseys. Shoot, it's not like I'm gonna watch a USC-Oregon game and mistake the Ducks for the Trojans if UO wears the yellows. <_<

Wow, a questionable NCAA rule? There's a new one ... <_<

It kept the undefeated Commodores from wearing their golds in Winston-Salem, and it also kept those UCF Golden Knights from wearing their golds in Columbia for the return of the 'ol ball coach ...

Bye-bye highlighter yellow!

Why "bye-bye"? Like has been said numerous times above, the yellow jerseys are ALTERNATES, not the official road unis. The whites have been around.

This white road jersey is nothing new for those who follow even the slightest of Pac-10 football.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Well if the NCAA was SMART they let the gold and other lights be warn as road alts for a BIG reason: It makes more $$$ for sales and thats whats they (NCAA)is all about. Stiffing the student-athaltes so they can put more $$$ in there own pocket.

The NCAA: What a joke!!!!

No wonder so many kids are leaving school asap in any sport!!

Is it just me, or are those Oregon whites the plainest jerseys out there?  Nothing but numbers and names (and of course, the swoosh)....no stripes or logos.  Just looked kinda weird all white.

does have oregon the shoulders count as not plain...

also---

any rule that allows oregon to wear those highlight uni's is a good rule. but I think the rule came into place because of the byu bibs uni's where you culd not tell if they where away or home....

this uniform ( i think it was around 1991ish)...

FYI- That is actually their home uni at the time...

Lightning is more white / blue than yellow. The jerseys look like highlighters. Therefore, highlight yellow.
