It would be a great local tradition that would completely mystify non-Nats fans.It's as if this board would be better at running the Nationals than their ownership group is. There'd be a lot more effort expended toward tying in Washington's baseball past (e.g. the shameful way they've treated the DC Hall of Stars) and toward community involvement (e.g. MLB's RBI initiative). Of course now that I write that I realize that the new ballpark will be heavily skewed to luxe boxes for law firms and lobbyists than to the workaday GS-7/8/9 looking for a fun and relaxing after-work outing. I proposed this and people thought it was a bad idea.
