brinkeguthrie
1) why do the ESPN guys seem to slobber over every player?2) why does Warrick Dunn wear a big ol neckchain outside of his turtleneck? Isn't that illegal- a hazard to someone getting caught on it?

He moved the ball through the air. He had one interception that thankfully was fumbled. But take away that one play, he was effective, esspecially considering he hasn't played in an NFL game in over a year.
NJTank
Urlacher kicked Vicks ass he hiot him hard had hiom affraid to run he could not throw and he was neutralized, eventually hes gonna have to overcome obsticles like this or he will never see a Super Bowl. FightinIrish11
so now all of a sudden everyone believes in the bears . it was obvious to me that the bears were going to win (besides the stiffiling defense) after the first pass grossman threw that gained twice as many yards as orton had thrown for all nite. this was long over due. they didnt need a brady or manning to get this team to score points, but needed a step above kyle orton. with all due respect, i think orton will still have a good career. its his rookie season, he did just enough to keep the bears going. he'll be pretty good in due time. for me, i woulda been happy to see the bears just make the playoffs with a division crown. but now with grossman likely to start next week, i'm beginning to believe they are now legit contenders in the NFC. BEAR DOWN, YOU CHICAGO BEARS!
HedleyLamarr
I can't remember a time where the starting QB was pulled in favor of another QB (not counting injury or gimmick plays) while his team was winning.....
paynomind
Hey, speaking of uneducated people speaking about football.. nice to see all the Vick love in here. A guy comes to a team and turns them from a boring, losing team, into one of the most exciting. A guy who turns a perennial losing franchise into one who expects to make the playoffs. A guy who wins 67% of games he starts over his entire career. 2005: 8-52004: 11-32003: 3-1 (injury)2002: 8-5-12001: 1-1Overall: 31-15-1If you except his Junior and Senior year of college (2001 and 2002 would have been, had he not left early) he is 22-9 as a starter. Winning 71% of his games. In no way is a QB who rushes for almost 3,000 yards and 20TDs, who wins the vast majority of the time, overrated. If the NFL's team rosters were all dissolved today, and the entire league re-drafted, Vick would be one of the top 3 QBs taken. He is only 25, people. Don?t give up on him yet. He still has the capacity to learn and get better. Which is a scary thing. Imagine if he had a WR on his team that could make another NFL team?s roster. Wouldn?t that be scary too?Go ahead and write off Vick. He will burn you.-Though, I will go ahead and say... goodbye 2005 playoffs. It was nice having planned to meet you. Hopefully you have great success, and the next playoffs that come along will like us better. Good luck. Enjoy the Colts and Seahawks.Oh, and I've said it before, and will say it again. Unless the Seahawks make it, this year will be the worst team to make the Super Bowl from the NFC since 1984
Dnice
Especially when they get him a decent damn line so he won't have to back peddle.
TFoA
Paynomind is right. Vick might not be the most accurate QB around, but dammit he did something Jeff George and about 2,000 other dudes who were QB for the Falcons before him couldn't do (Except Chandler): Win and win consistently.I also agree with Payno in the fact that playoffs are out of the window. Congrats Carolina, we just gave you the NFC South tonight.
CS85
Vick just got his ass beat around in frigid weather, end of story. The guy's an exciting multi-tool player, but if you smack him around early and often, and effectively contain his runs, he'll fold like a deck of cards. Dnice
What really pisses me off is we didn't lose anyone on offense a year after makin the playoffs like Jamal in 99 and Vick in 03, what a meltdown.
TFoA
What really pisses me off is we didn't lose anyone on offense a year after makin the playoffs like Jamal in 99 and Vick in 03, what a meltdown. The problem is, our defense took a HUGE step down. We lost Brady Smith on the line and lost Ed Hartwell in the first game, which led to moving Keith Brooking to MLB. Now don't get me wrong, Brooking was amazing at MLB, but that's not his natural position. And then our secondary is straight garbage. That's why we took the dip we did, every team we played had a career offensive day against us. I knew it was bad when Rex Grossman, who hasn't played a game in a freakin' year, came in and blazed us on his first drive back. So now I'm pretty much convinced that this year, we need to draft defense and pick up some defense because this year, the defense has been disgraceful. We've missed numerous tackles, we've had numerous blunders on defense (ex: Keon Carpenter fumbling an interception) and once again, POOR TACKLING. We need guys that can tackle dammit. Smack around any NFL QB and you'll get the same result. It's not just Michael Vick. From Manning all the way down to whatever hack is playing QB for the Dolphins this week, they'll all "fold like a deck of cards" if you can manage to beat up on them. The Chargers did it to Manning too.Why not just call it what it was? A great Bears defense shutting down the entire Falcons offense? Michael Vick is never going to beat that good of a defense by himself.

Someone besides Alge Crumpler who can actually catch the damn ball. Good gawd that game made me mad.
