Super Bowl XL Uniforms *merged*

Recommended Posts

If i'm not mistake, the Eagles wore green last year and the Patriots wore white, so that leaves the NFC rep. to wear white this year and the AFC to wear dark, as the conferences flip every year

Am i off, or am right on this assumption?

If i am right, then since Pittsburgh has already knocked out my Broncos tonight, they will be wearing their Black Helmet, Black jersey's and Yellow pants combo.

If the Panthers win of course they will wear the all white combo with the Silver helmet. but how about if the seahaks should win (SEA up 10-0 with about 2 min left in the 1st quarter)? obviously they will have the Blue helmet and white jersey, but the question is the pants... will they wear blue or white? i'm kinda partial to the blue pants.

Pittsburgh has the choice, and they have to stay with what works. White has to be the choice.

Either way, Pittsburgh will have the aesthetic advantage on Feb. 5.

The AFC team has the choice of uniforms, so I'm guessing Pittsburgh in black.

How come the AFC has the choice? y not the NFC? especially since its in an NFC stadium

Stadium does not matter. In odd numbered Super Bowls (like last year, XXXIV) NFC is the "Home Team". Even numbered Super Bowl (like this year, XL), AFC is the "Home Team"

Because the home team alternates every year. The NFC was the home team last year thus the AFC is the home team this year. The stadium has nothing to do with it.

Also, I believe the Steelers always wear black when they are the "home-team." They are a very traditional team. I would say it's a 100% chance the Steelers wear black.

^^ So what? What does that have to do with anything?

And, the Steelers don't have a choice at all. They alternate every year. Last year the NFC wore home uniforms, this year the AFC does. Next year the NFC will again. Let's not try and make it too scientific.

The Steelers do have a choice. There are many times the "home-team" for the Super Bowl has wore white. The Cowboys and Redskins usally have done that.

Home team: AFC Champion will wear its choice of jerseys.

The Steelers wore black jerseys for their five previous Superbowls (4 victories). I think they will stick with "what works".

They won their first superbowl in white. Super Bowl IX vs. the Vikings.
